“Filthy bathroom and stank like piss”
+Bed was comfortable and smelled clean
−The bathroom was filthy to the point we put towels on the floor and didn’t touch anything. Seat was broken shower was nasty. Being in a wheelchair and getting between the dresser and wall was a joke. It was too late to change hotels or we would have. Nasty nasty

“Good hotel but beware if you book and prepay through Booking.com they may charge you again.”
+Clean and well kept but it’s showing its age a bit as it has gone downmarket from previously being a Doubletree. Rooms were nice.
−Beware if you prebook or pay through a 3rd party travel site such as Booking.com the front desk will say that they cannot get the payments from the provider and double charge you for the room without even taking your card. (They will obtain the payment info from booking) Weeks later I’m still dealing with Booking to try to get the double charge refunded.

−I stayed in this hotel many many times when it was a Hillton. This hotel was embarrassing. Totally run down. I changed rooms once and could have done it twice. I am considering calling the town of independence and reporting this hotel on safety and sanitary conditions

“The hotel was a 5 out of 10. The price was affordable. Management did not show enough concern about my room ceiling leak”
+The ladies at the front desk were pleasant
−The ceiling in my room leaked water on to my bed. I was not offended a compensation from management.

“It was dirty”
−Walls, floors everything was dirty and gross. The place smelled. Trash was over flowing from the trash can in hallways and outside.

“Partying until 2am with no help from staff”
+Some were nice, and some were not helpful
−There was a party in the room across from mine until 2 am. I called the front desk multiple times, but no one helped. Why did the hotel allow partying until that late? Especially when they have guests traveling for business
