“Great country pub experience”
+Friendly, authentic country pub in a remote picturesque setting. Beer good as was the food and welcome Log burner in bar at night. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious

+The super lovely staff! Everyone was so kind and welcoming- and I mean everyone! From Myles who welcomed me on arrival in the car park (off out with his gorgeous dog Archie), and Zoe who showed me to my room, to the lads in the kitchen and everyone else who I came across (including Nelly the adorable pub dog) What a dream team! Lovely new bathroom in my room- amazing shower plus, and a really comfy bed. Delicious breakfast and wood fired Pizza. Can't wait to stay again!
−No net curtains or blind so I couldn't open the heavy curtains until I was up and dressed (my room was on the ground floor)

“Decent stay but not enough pull from the hotel to return”
+Staff very nice and helpful , bed very comfortable and great bathroom/ shower , food delicious. In a lovely area , beautiful walks .
−Hotel a bit run down , needs a facelift , rooms very tired , cups for tea/coffee dirty tea stains in both . Paid £120 for one room on booking .con , and found once arrived needed to pay for breakfast buffet also which is £18.50 each , equaling £157 in total for a night , which is too much to pay for this particular hotel . ( as noted previously cooked breakfast was really nice)

“Brilliant location but let down by overall ambience, incomplete updating, uncomfortable bed & relatively expensive f”
+Location. Modernised bathroom
−Sagging uncomfortable bed albeit supplemented with mattress topper. Standard room at rear with unpleasant view of flat roof & exhaust systems. Equipped as if for one person. Old fashioned furniture. Restaurant staff on first night seemed stressed & overworked. Mutton meal sounded good but was disappointing in terms flavour, content & value for money given it’s a cheaper meat. Different staff More welcoming & attentive on second night . If we had come on my motorbike l would have felt more at home: it presents as that sort of premises & is rather rough & ready at the frontage. A good biker’s place. While drinking in the garden we saw a number of potential clients stop in their cars to survey the property… & then drive on giving it a miss. Target clientele may need reassessment.

+Location is excellent. Quiet and off the beaten track.
−Breakfast price too expensive. Could do with continental breakfast options at cheaper price.
