9.0“A lovely place to stay with great views and atmosphere!”
+The room had a fabulous view over the River Lune, it was warm and cosy with a very comfortable bed, clean towels and plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and made us feel at home whilst staying there. The bar area is large with great choices of drinks, the food and portions are good value and we enjoyed eating there.
−It would be good to have breakfast there but there was a list of great local places to eat which were just a few minutes walk away. We were worried about parking there but we did not experience any problems dring our three day stay. So there was nothing that we disliked at all!

5.0+I was in Lancaster for a theatre show and thought an overnight stay close to but not on top of the city centre would be ideal and the position of the Wagon and Horses fits that bill exactly; I enjoyed stretching my legs for the short walk back to the bars, restaurants and clubs and hoped the small distance would mean less late night noise. The room although small was really comfortable however I think that as a room only ( no breakfast was available ) it was over priced.
−From it's position away from the city centre, I had hoped not to be too disturbed by late night revellers however it was probably just bad luck that right under my bedroom window at the front of the property a drunken patron decided to engage in a lengthy arguement with a both his companion and a car, ( not mine ) with many expletives and much banging, thumping and kicking of the car's bodywork. All the staff I encountered during my stay were friendly and professional, everywhere was clean and I would consider staying again.

4.0+It's closing down or being sold so not much going on. There seemed.to be a closing down party on the night we stayed which we were not informed about prior to arrival. This went on until 2am

2.0“Very poor”
+There was nothing positive to say about our stay.
−We booked B&B but were informed on arrival breakfast no longer available! The place was closed and locked up when we arrived at 2.15 so not possible to leave bags or have a drink prior to check in. There was no food available in the evenings we stayed and the bar was tired and not clean. Rooms were OK but beds and pillows hard and red flashing lights in rooms all night so we all slept poorly. Bathroom not clean and no soap in one dispenser and other one broken. We had stayed here 2 years ago and it was fine but has clearly gone downhill.

9.0“As above”
+Great communication with hotel pre visit, as coming from North America. Located beside the tidal river, close to Lancaster castle, pub downstairs (convenient for supper), and staff helpful the next day with storing luggage. No complaints
−Nothing.

9.0+Everyone was very helpful and accommodating and we were made to feel very welcome. A very relaxing place to spend time. Breakfast was not included but they recommended somewhere for us to go and called a taxi to get us to the station for our transfer to the Isle of Man.
−The bar area was a little tired but that added to the homely feel.

10.0“EXCELLENT, fabulous, a gem”
+If there was an ultimate excellent we would award it. Lovely everything. We would especially like to appreciate the meet and greet assistant manager. She was an absolute credit to the hospitality industry and rarely have such exceptional hospitality been offered. Perhaps credit where credit due.
−Nothing disliked.
