“Not what I was expecting at all.”
+I stayed in Villa Ghia with my family of 5 for a week and my experience was not exactly what I was expecting. To start, Villa Ghia is not a hotel as it says on booking.com, it is actually an Airbnb. When I first arrived, it was at around 11pm which wasn’t our initial check in time (5pm) but we informed the owner via email prior our initial checking time. At first, the owner was nice, understanding and friendly and he showed us to our two bedrooms that we had booked for. He also turned the AC on for us so we can cool down and also connected us to the wifi both indoors and outdoors. One of my sons were so desperate to see the other facilities that were at the hotel such as the gym and the swimming pool so the owner was so kind enough to quickly show us the swimming pool. When we got back, we were so hungry so he made us some food that was out of his working hours. Aside from that, the bed was very comfortable and I had a good night’s rest. Breakfast was amazing, the owner was again so friendly and engaging in conversation, he told us all we needed to know about transport in the city such as renting out a car. −When it was time for us to get ready for bed, one of the shower heads water pressure was extremely low and the toilet didn’t flush. There was also used toiletry items on the counter and in the drawers and also bugs on the mirror and on the ceiling of the bathroom. When I got to my room, I opened one of the drawers just to see another bug. The gym was quite disappointing as there wasn’t much in it at all. There were only two 10kg dumbbells, one 40kg weight, mats and a skipping rope. This was definitely a let down as my kids and I were extremely excited to use the gym and it was part of the reason why we booked Villa Ghia. On the day we were leaving, our check out time was for 5pm, but the owner came and informed us at 10:30am that we should leave by 12pm latest due to other guests arriving later on in the day. At 11:50, we were about to head out the door and hand over the keys when the owner burst out in anger saying that we should have left by 11am and we should not have been in kitchen at all. I responded saying that he told us by 12pm latest, and that he is being extremely inconsiderate about the fact that I have 4 kids and this Airbnb only provides breakfast which 3 out of 4 of

“Magnificent stay”

+The host is very friendly and helpful! He went all the way to organize and guide us to a very last minute educational cheese tour. He also recommended a few good restaurants and as well as where to get the best cheese and prosciutto .

+Breakfast was good. Location was good. It was a special pleasure staying in an historical property. But Enrico was the best part of the stay.
−I couldn't bring my suitcase up the stairs. It was heavy for all of those stairs.

+We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Villa Ghia and couldn’t recommend it highly enough! Our host was incredibly welcoming, helpful and attentive. Nothing was ever too much, and he shared wonderful local tips and fascinating stories about the history of this beautiful 400-year-old villa. Everything was perfectly taken care of, making our stay truly special. The cherry on top was the fantastic tour of a Parmigiano Reggiano factory, where we saw how the cheese is traditionally made by hand, 365 days a year. Such a unique and authentic experience! A beautiful villa, an exceptional host and an unforgettable stay. We would absolutely love to come back! 🇮🇹❤️

“Mooi verblijf in Food-valley van Parma”
+De gastheer was bijzonder attent. Hij had goede adviezen en mooie verhalen. Het mooie landhuis was een bijzondere ervaring en we hebben genoten van het lekkere zwembad.

+Een geweldig mooi pand met een rijke historie. De eigenaar is een bevlogen gastheer die graag vertelt over de hitiorie van het oand en de geweldige bijbehorende tuin. Fantastisch!!

“Wij hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad in een mooie omgeving.”
+Mooie ruime kamer in een prachtig historisch pand. Vriendelijk eigenaren ( echtpaar). Enrico gaf waardevolle tips voor uitstapjes in de omgeving. Er is een heerlijk zwembad in een grote tuin. Een goed verzorgd ontbijt o.a. met zelfgemaakte taart.
−Een kleine koelkast zou mooi zijn geweest.
