“Great place for a very low price.”
+The place was beautiful and high upon a hill, very close to town and station. The guy who served us was very nice and obliging. Breakfast was great, especially the pancakes.
−The balcony was being repaired, so we couldn't use it.😢

“A nice little spot just above Ella.A good breakfast and nice room”
+This was a beautiful spot with only a couple of rooms , but more are on the way. It is above ella,so you have a little more open space . It was a simple room that meets the basic needs.the host was willing to help with anything that was needed . The breakfast was exellent and delicious , with fruits ,eggs,pancakes and more the room had a small balcony off it which was nice to watch birds from.The host was helpful , friendly ,and kind

+The view from the window was breathtaking and saved our stay,because we hit a cyclone and spent the day at the villa emerald. Super helpful owner, delicious and filling breakfast.

+My heart is bleeding to give such a rating because the staff on the ground is very lovely, but faking reviews is something that the travel community should not accept. It’s clear that management/ owner gave this place many 10 ratings (which is clear by same typos and errors in writing by many people from different countries). Was also noted by another traveler below. In general, it’s a decent place but with the fake reviews they made it to a 9,2 when I booked which it clearly is not. Breakfast and view and indeed quite good

“Welcoming host, great location.”
+Welcoming hospitality, comfy room with a huge balcony, delicious full local breakfast - loved it. Sometimes you can hear discos from the downtown (it is some distance below the property), so if you're a light sleeper - earplugs would be a good choice.

−Could have provided kettle and tea bags in the room. Payment is cash, which came to our surprise. Card payment should make possible, especially when expecting foreign customers. If cash payment is the only option, customer should be informed beforehand.

“Clean, basic with beautiful verandah, view and a great manager.”
+Villa Emerald has two rooms. Ours was spotlessly clean and there was a large balcony. The hotel was also on a very steep hill l, which meant that we had great views. The room was basic, however, it was very good value for Ella. Thank you Supun for making sure we have wonderful memories of our stay. It was my partner’s birthday, and Supun surprised us with a cake at breakfast, which we enjoyed with the other guest. So kind and very appreciated.

“Good Location, Excellent Stay”
+This hotel boasts an absolutely fantastic location (although high up a hill), making it easy to explore the area and not far from the Ella Rock hiking trail starting point. The entire property was impeccably clean, and the host was incredibly welcoming and friendly. To top it off, the breakfast provided was truly excellent and a great start to the day.
