“A peaceful pleasant stay”
+Comfy bed and great shower. Lovely hosts. Beautiful little front garden and exquisite family run restaurant.
−Nothing other than for us it felt further out of the city than where we had stayed at the beginning of our trip. However the metro is only a 10 minute walk away and ubers are very affordable.

“A lovely “family welcome” in Oporto”
+We all considered Vila Camélia to be one of the greatest highlights of our trip to Portugal. It felt more like a dreamy oasis than a hotel. The family that runs it do their absolute best to offer their guests a memorable time in Oporto that feels nothing at all like an ordinary hotel stay or an Airbnb. This place feels special, and anything I write here cannot fully express the “je ne sais quoi” that makes it so. The décor: artful, unique. The cuisine: masterfully prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious. The patio and garden areas: lush, tranquil and breezy, The rooms: spacious, pleasant, inviting. The family that runs the place: absolutely lovely. The location was just far enough from the city center to offer a nice, neighborhood feel but also close enough to walk at a leisurely pace to the more heavily-touristed city center. After a hard day of exploring beautiful Oporto, what could be better than having such a calm, restful place to return to in the evening?

+We had an amazing stay, we were welcomed by the family and they went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The room was lovely and very comfortable. I can’t fault this place, we would definitely stay again

“A calm, relaxing atmosphere greets you with wonderful hosts”
+This is a lovely pretty hotel where a good deal of thought has been given to presentation and standards. From the beautiful furniture in the room to the continental breakfast with homemade yogurt and jam. The family go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Both sons have excellent English so there were no communication difficulteis. The hotel is a good but interesting walk to the centre but the Ubers are very cheap.
−Tea and coffee facilites would have been nice in the room.

“An Arte Nova gem with old-world charm and a beautifully contemporary restaurant.”
+What we loved most was the villa itself , a beautiful piece of Arte Nova from the early twentieth century, and you can feel that history the moment you step inside. More than once I caught myself drifting back in time, imagining how wonderful it must have been to live in a house like this a hundred years ago. Our room was a real gem: spacious, spotlessly clean, sweet and welcoming. The family who owns the house made the stay even more special , warm, kind and genuinely helpful, always ready with a smile and a recommendation. We also booked dinner at their restaurant, and what a treat it was. The food was exceptional, every bite a little journey for the taste buds.

+Made to feel very welcome, room was extremely comfortable and very clean. Food in the restaurant was fantastic. Highly recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat
−The only suggestion I'd make would be a coffee machine in the room, however there are some cafes within 100 metres

“Séjour parfait à Porto”
+Très bel hébergement administré par une famille charmante, aimable et attentionnée. Endroit calme, avec un magnifique jardin. Nous avons pris à chaque matin le petit déjeuner maison, qui était très bon et copieux. Notre chambre était grande, bien décorée, avec une belle terrasse très appréciée après une journée de marche à Porto ! Nous avons également réservé un soir le repas table d'hôte au restaurant, repas délicieux et abordable versus la qualité des mets. Un gros merci à nos hôtes pour leur accueil chaleureux et leur gentillesse, nous recommandons fortement cet hôtel pour un séjour à Porto !

+Alle hosts. Zeer vriendelijk en attent. Heerlijk gegeten. Vriendelijke kok en eten echt zeer goed. Voor een betaalbare prijs op hoger niveau eten is een aanrader.
−Tegenvallen is het niet maar als koffie liefhebber na het opstaan zou een waterkoker op de kamer fijn zijn. Wel de mogelijkheid om een waterkoker te gebruiken op de beganegrond dus geen tegenvaller maar misschien een tip voor de eigenaars.

+Wir hatten wirklich schönes, gemütliches Zimmer mit einem grossen Balkon. Die Vila Camélia liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße mit guter Anbindung zur Innenstadt per Bus oder Metro. Die Gastgeber sind absolut freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit.
