+It's a historic building so it's not modern but it is very nice. The room was large, the common space was large. There's plenty of coffee. The breakfast was nice, the restaurant for dinner was excellent.

“Charming historic building”
+Location right on main street. Historic building, very clean. Personable staff. Restaurant onsite - very good.
−Included "breakfast" was minimal - oranges, yogurt, prepackaged bars

“Unbelievably great find in a very cool town. Ferndale is so fun.”
+The Victorian Inn is incredibly special. Everything is freshly painted, inside and out, and both the carpets and flooring are very new, clean and/or refinished. The guest lounge on the second floor has really great upholstered couches and comfy chairs. Games, books and a dining table are up there. Along with good coffee and refrigerator, and available ice. Everything is super clean, which is a big deal for us. And we loved the artwork and antiques The ‘so called’ continental breakfast was packed with protein options and freshly baked muffins. Fresh fruits and juices, yogurts, oatmeal, soft boiled eggs and more. We were more than thrilled to enjoy this before we headed home. There’s no elevator but we found the staff more than happy to bring our bags up for us. And also bring them back downstairs at checkout.
−Nothing. This is a fabulous hotel.

+The hotel and grounds were beautiful and the staff was very friendly.
−They did not have an elevator so we had to carry all our luggage and cooler up quite a few stairs.

“Gorgeous building I felt like a prince”
+This was the coolest hotel I have ever been to. I love historic buildings so I payed way more than I logically should have because what’s life if you can’t go forty five minutes out of you way and pay double a normal (boring) hotel and pretend you’re living in a palace. 100/10 would stay here again if I’m ever in California.
−Check in instructions had me confused bc they said to go to the “third door” when checking in after hours. I think it would have been clearer to say “third on the left when facing from Main Street” but I’m easily lost so take that with a Grain of salt

“Ferndale Fun”
+Caroline's muffins alone are reason enough to go! However, the town is charming and very quiet. Street parking is easy and ample. The rooms are adorable and the food is delicious. Close to all the fun things in the area. We especially loved our nightcaps at The Palace 1/2 block from the inn.
