“It was OK but would be much better with a few easy improvements.”
+We stayed for one night on a cycling holiday in Georgia. The property was in a good location. The staff were very kind and helpful. In the morning the owner (I think) showed us his wine cellar and gave us a glass of wine each. This was at 9:00 am. The wine was good. Although we had not purchased breakfast (not an option on Booking) he also gave us bread, cheese grapes and coffee. It set us up for our days ride
−There was no kettle in the room and no glasses to drink water. The room didn't have curtains. The bathroom was a little grubby and the hot water wasn't very hot. Outside our room was a veranda that guests could use. The other guests did and they were enjoying themselves. When they finally went to bed they left the patio light on, which was a problem for us as our room didn't have curtains!

“A gem in Kvareli”
+Absolutely everything! Leila and Dimitri are so warm hearted as hosts. Our room was perfect and the grounds were lovely. The swimming pool was a bonus on such a hot day. We booked the cooking masterclass which I would recommend everyone doing. We made khinkali and khacherpuri with very patient instruction using a translator. We had lots of laughs. Dimitri kept us well topped up with his own red wine and a little chacha which was divine. After nibbling all we could Leila put the leftovers in her fridge for us to take for dinner in Juta. Thank goodness we had a decent gap before our dinner of pork BBQ, traditional salads, stuffed aubergine and cheese followed by fresh fruit. The next morning we ate a delicious breakfast of eggs, potato croquets, cheese, salad, honey and coffee before making an emotional goodbye.
−Leaving!

+Our stay at Varga was one of our best guest house experiences in Georgia! Our host family was incredibly welcoming and invited us into their home with open arms and open hearts. Conversation was intriguing and a genuine insight into a beautiful Georgian family and culture. The beds were very comfortable, clean and new, the huge covered porch is a relaxing outdoor space, the pool was refreshing and breakfast was delicious. The host organized a taxi for wine touring upon request. I would highly recommend this guest house.

+Perfectly located family house near the museums and the restaurants. Hospitable hosts, beautiful room with fireplace. We were in Kvareli in November, it was cold, so the heat from the fireplace was life-giving! The hosts treated us to home-made delicious wines, jams, honey! Also important thing: there is a large parking place in the courtyard, my car was not outside on the narrow street.
−The room was a bit cold inside.

“Look for better options”
+very basic, somewhat clean, had a small pool.
−Should be fancier in this price range. Didn’t had a duvet covers (i understand, it’s Summer, but it doesn’t matter). Only single option for a breakfast, which i didn’t bought. Challenge to even have a normal morning coffee.

“Local guesthouse with nice pool”
+Kvareli is a very quiet town in the kakheti wine area. Perfect for a few days to explore local life in Georgia and the wine cave and Kindzmarauli. It is very easy to get here from Tbilisi via public transport. The guesthouse was very good and clean, the pool was very nice, and the big patio was amazing. I guarantee you: The elderly couple owning this place are the best hosts in Georgia - very kind and very helpful. They gave us fruits and homemade wine, and they were always around and ready to help. They do not speak English, but they can call their daughter or use translate - it worked out very well. Thank you so much!
