“The warmest if welcomes that will stay in our memories for years to come.”
+We had the warmest of welcomes :-) Our room was spacious and comfortable, if a little old fashioned. The owner cooks delicious Chinese food, other options were available. There’s a pub at the hotel but it isn’t open on Mondays and Tuesdays. You can still get drinks in the dining room. We wanted a light breakfast and we’re happy we could just order oatmeal with our tea and coffee. We were told where to go for a nice walk down to the lake. We ran into a mum and baby bear. We were excited and terrified as we have never come across them before. New Denver is a lovely little town and we were very sad to leave. Stay at least 2 nights if you have time. The town is lovely and the ghost town at Sandon is worth a visit (at least 2 hours but more if you can)

“Good value and friendly staff.”
+Friendly staff, good food, clean rooms.
−As this is an older building, an easy way to improve curb appearance would be to perform lawncare. Found vegetation was overgrown and has been neglected for some time.

“Great little hotel”
+Amazing staff went above and beyond from checking in to feeding us a late supper even though we arrived after the restaurant had closed.
−Not anything to not like with customer service like they offer.

“Everything you need plus great food!”
+What a great place! It is charming, comfortable, clean and has an excellent restaurant. My family and I had a lovely stay and would definitely stay here again. The restaurant was a delightful surprise and we thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese food options. The chrysanthemum tea was perfect after a long drive.

“Very charming motel in a rustic village”
+This is a family run business in which they are investing with love and care. The inn and furniture is old, but the paint, wallpapers and carpets are fresh and clean and there Were flowers in the windows. The beds were good. We loved grandma and how she looked after our family. We dined in the restaurant and can totally recommend the pie and the Chinese options! Visiting Sandon Ghost Town was also a great time-capsule experience: a must do! And go swim in the lake!
−Nothing, we loved the quiet of New Denver and our stay at Valhalla Inn.

“Excellent.”
+Excellent staff and care.
−With all of the smoke, air conditioning would have been good to have.
