“Beautiful hotel with fire, home cooked food and outstanding hospitality”
+We stayed in Africa for a week in 3 different locations. This place was our second one and both me and my friend agreed that this was our favorite. We enjoyed the incredible hospitality, the interior, the fire inside the reception area and the good that was made from scratch right infront of our eyes! Highly recommend this place for your stay if you are in this area.

“Overall good experience”
+- staff very friendly. They were really nice and even offered to clean our shoes after several muddy treks. - the room was spacious and confortable - breakfast was really good - easy parking
−- keep in mind that the hotel is located ~25min from the center (by foot). If you are alone at night, it’s something to be aware of (or you can take a moto taxi!) - toilet was leaking a bit. They offered to change the room but it was almost the last day so we just turned off the valve when we left the room. - a lot of menu items were not available for diner, we decided to go out. - no shower curtains so it was difficult to not wet the bathroom. Overall a good experience! Still recommend the place.

“Wonderful stay in Musanze”
+We stayed four nights at Virunga Palace, and honestly, we could hardly find enough words to describe how wonderful and comfortable our stay was. The hotel is only about a 20-minute walk from the center of Musanze, which makes it extremely convenient while still feeling peaceful and tucked away. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and comfortable, and the patio is absolutely beautiful, a lovely place to slow down and relax after a day of exploring. The whole team goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible, but Sarah and Dan made our stay truly special. They took wonderful care of us and were also incredibly helpful with organizing the details of our days, always generous with their advice, and, above all, genuinely warm and welcoming. The food was excellent, and breakfast was prepared fresh and served according to our schedule. Whether we needed to leave as early as 6 a.m. to make it in time for a volcano hike or a gorilla trek, or wanted to sleep in and have breakfast around 9:30 a.m., Sarah and Dan happily adapted to our plans. Sarah and Dan, if you are reading this: murakoze cyane! Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

“Hidden Gem”
+The staff was welcoming and attentive. The omelet for breakfast and pasta for dinner was delicious. We enjoyed the common areas for conversation and writing. There was also a small balcony/porch which was nice.
−This feedback is for general travel awareness. The hotel is on a dirt road which can confuse people. This is not the hotel's fault/responsibility but good for other travelers to know. There is a sign on the main paved road but there is no corner or curb cutout to indicate you can turn onto the sidewalk and onto the dirt road.

+Petit hôtel à l'abri des flux, avec un personnel attentif. Bien situé pour aller vers le Kivu ou vers Kigali. Ambiance familiale agréable.
