“Cheap and cheerful”
+This home was cheap and the location was very convenient.
−The room needs some maintenance and is very small, but that is reflected in the price

“Could have been better”
+It was closed to my area of interest.
−During my stay, there was significant noise at night caused by two male guests downstairs. More posters or clear notices should be placed around the property reminding guests to avoid disturbing others. The bathroom door was broken, and the shower area was too narrow and difficult to enter. There were also not enough plates, glasses, and other basic kitchen items available. Additionally, there was no iron provided for pressing clothes.

−We were charged for this accomodation, but they didn’t have a room for us. We asked for a refund as we didn’t stay there and they never responded to our request.

“Absolutely disgusting”
+Room was full of mould, smelt like dirty wet washing. Complained about the mould in the room as it is a serious health risk and nothing was done at all. Not even a response from the landlord in the 4 days I was staying there.

+I did not enjoy my stay at The Ultimo Homestay. I had to carry a heavy suitcase up a steep staircase, then come down and carry hand luggage up again? The room was below average. The Duvet needed a good iron. The pillows were lumpy and not comfortable to sleep on? The front entrance needed a good tidy up and weed. One man came to fix the bedroom door lock?

“A stranger in my bed”
−I did not like booking, paying, providing photo ID, all in advance. But arriving and finding a stranger, a man, in my room, who had allegedly also booked the room. I did not like trying to contact the manager / check in coordinator three times, she only replied when I threatened to contact the department of fair trading. So I had to find somewhere else to stay. I also did not like that so far I have not been reimbursed. Nor did I like that man propositioning me, even at the same time saying he was married.

+Great location, nice park nearby, easy to walk to darling harbour.
−No aircon, there was a fan which was helpful as it was very hot when we were there. Stairs to upstairs bedrooms were pretty steep. I think total of 5 rooms in the house.
