9.0+Fun few days in the 'jungle'. Basic but pleasant stay and ideal location to see the National Park and southern tip of lake Taupo. Lots of nice hikes/walks nearby and we recommend the Tokaanu thermal pool: so relaxing after a long hike.

7.0“Nice enough but too small”
+The electric heating pad on the mattress was great. It was wonderful getting into a warm bed. Kitchen and bathroom were adequate. Large shower area and plenty hot water but bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The soap in the shower seemed like hand soap. No salt but there was black pepper. Kitchen has sink, microwave, two-burner hot plate, small refrigerator, and sufficient plates, bowls and utensils. The deck outside is covered and offers some more space if it’s warm enough.
−The kitchen/bedroom is very small. To get to the far side of the bed you shimmy through the small space between the bed and the window. And don’t kick the bed posts. That hurts. No room to leave an open suitcase on the floor. If you need something in the suitcase you open it up, take what you need then close it up and put it against a wall to get it out of the way. There’s no heating other than the mattress pad. I was hoping the air conditioner blower might double as a heater but it just blew cool air regardless of the mode of operation. There’s very limited shelf space. There’s another small room connected to the bathroom. Access is from outside the cottage (see wooden step in exterior photo). Another bathroom? Who has access? We heard footsteps, running water and the door closing occasionally. We thought someone was on the porch but nobody there. Don’t know what that was about.

9.0“Perfect spot for our walk in the Park.”
+A feeling of seclusion with the accommodation being nicely nestled in native bush. Very quiet with just the sound of Bell birds. Very handy to the National Park.
−A little bit tight on space and couldn’t connect to internet, but not a big issue.

7.0“Our stay did not meet our expectations.”
+The property was secluded and in the forest.
−There was no WIFI. We were here for two nights and the proprietor made no effort to fix it. Unfortunately we were woken up multiple times during the night by a possum on the roof and deck.

6.0+Beautiful surroundings. Near Tongariro National Park
−Address on Bookings led to a location 100km away from the property. Not easy to find. No WiFi in the property. The host provided password to connect to a WiFi outside the property but with a typo.

9.0“Our stay was great and we were satisfied. We would go book their again in the future.”
+I like the ambience, the peaceful location, and the complete things we need in the kitchen, from utensils, kitchenware and spices for food.
−Everything was good except a little issue with accessing tv channels, there was only one local channel we could find. And we couldn't use netflix or youtube. Anyhow, the good thing was we were able to use the wifi with great connection.

7.0“basic accomodation not worste and nor better that most of the other in the neighborhood”
+it's a small 1 room smelly musty that need for maintenance the bed is so big that it's hard to go around it while it's easy blow something with the elbow when near the kitchen countertop not noticed there's bathroom for campervans just next door leaning the very same building, whose door is frequently slammed even in the middle of the night. even though the david's cares is tricky to reach the door and yet is not easy to find something better near the tongariro park
