“A beautiful setting with a lovely concept, although the rooms would benefit from some updating”
+Totoco Lodge has a beautiful location and a lovely concept, with wonderful views from the gardens. The setting is truly special, and the food was good, the service was adequate, and the prices were reasonable. It is a place with a lot of potential and a unique atmosphere.
−The access road from the main road is quite rough and may be challenging for smaller or lower-clearance vehicles. The rooms and bathrooms would also benefit from some maintenance and updating, as certain details and the overall condition of the facilities did not quite match the impression given by the photos. With a little more attention to upkeep, the experience could be even better.

“Beautiful stay in a private casita with amazing views.”
+The views are amazing here and make it worth it. The casita we stayed in was very pretty and we really loved the outdoor shower. The staff are all friendly and were accommodating and the food and drinks were good.
−You have to drive up a very steep road in poor condition to get here - even an experienced motorcyclist will have difficulty especially with two people and bags.

+Prachtig uitzicht waar je dicht bij de natuur bent en de dieren goed kan horen.
−Het uitzicht was prachtig, maar de accommodatie ligt er afgelegen. Als je niet over een scooter of ATV beschikt, geraak je nergens. Er was geen yogaleraar en hierdoor waren er geen lessen. Ook andere activiteiten werden niet georganiseerd.

“Erlebnis und Abenteuer pur mit einem sensationellen Blick auf den Vulkan”
+Die Lage war perfekt, toller Ausblick und Natur pur mit allem was dazu gehört, auch Tiere! Etwas abseits gelegen, jedoch mit Roller erreichbar. Personal war sehr bemüht, Frühstück und Abendessen sehr gut, immer frisch gekocht, Auswahl an Speisen, für jeden etwas dabei. Unterkunft in kleinen Häusern, perfekt in die Natur eingegliedert, absolut ökologisch - ein etwas anderes Erlebnis, aber durchaus empfehlenswert für 2 bis 3 Nächte.
−Wenn man es weiß kann man sich darauf einstellen, in den Unterkünften gibt es überall kleine Käfer, Spinnen, usw. trotz Netz über dem Bett - für uns kein Problem; aber wenn man ängstlich ist dann eher problematisch. Das grundsätzlich wunderschöne Pool könnte etwas mehr gepflegt sein und bitte keine Plastikstühle beim Pool.

−Wg mnie to nie jest resort. Domki były zużyte, mimo moskitier było mnóstwo robactwa. Toaleta typu - bez spłuczki. Basen to bardziej brodzik, nie dało się popływać.

+Gerne. Ich würde es fair schreiben, damit die einfachen Cabañas und die Zufahrt klar sind, ohne das Resort schlechtzumachen. Totoco Eco Resort is a lovely and very special place on Ometepe. The absolute highlight is the location up on the hill with an amazing view of the volcano. The sunsets are really, really beautiful and definitely one of the best things about staying here. Something you should know before booking is that you stay in individual cabanas, which are quite basic. The cabanas also have simple composting toilets, so you should be prepared for a more rustic eco-style experience. We especially loved the common area next to the reception, which we started calling “the living room”. It is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the view. There are only a few seats though, so in the evening it can happen that there is no place left to sit. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a peaceful, simple eco experience with incredible views and beautiful sunsets, Totoco is a wonderful place to stay.
−Very bad road to get there: Another thing to consider is the location and the road to get there. The resort is not located in a village and you have to drive uphill on a pretty rough road. We rented scooters, and you definitely need to be confident and experienced riding a scooter to manage the road. Another option would be to rent a quad or use a taxi, but of course that comes with additional costs.
