“Nice room but kids were running around well past 11 PM”
+The room was fine...the issue was the kids running up and down the halls and yelling well past 11 PM. One of my colleagues in another room said that she called the front desk shortly after 10 PM but that the noise continued well past 11. I don't blame the kids...I blame the parents for lack of control, but also, your front desk for not taking hold of this issue.

“Old hotel needs to be razed. Restaurant great though.”
+Great restaurant, old hotel. The hotel, honestly, needs to be razed. It’s outdated, drafty, and a maze of add on buildings. The potential for a world class hotel is here but they need to let go of the past and build something new. The staff is great, the restaurant food excellent. If in the area again we would only go to the restaurant.

“Blah, Meh…not terrible but Blah, Meh”
+This place is dated. While it appears to be maintained, tiles in bathroom were cracked, Toiletries were meh, general appearance was avg and old….if friends weren’t staying here, probably wouldn’t have picked it. I travel a lot and realized hotel prices have skyrocketed but this isn’t a 200+ night hotel.

“Awesome hotel in a great location.”
+Well-maintained and very clean facility. On-site restaurant is outstanding, with happy-hour specials and great food. We had a 3-day business meeting here and the staff made us feel welcomed.

“When in State College”
+Toftrees is one of the best places to stay in state college. It's clean, comfortable, friendly, convenient with a good restaurant. You will not go wrong staying here.

“DO NOT STAY AT THIS SO-CALLED RESORT - Embarrassing Excuse for a "resort"; they'll charge you 3x more because they can”
+Only have 100 characters to review but this place is poorly maintained, severely lacking in modern anything, staff is resigned to making excuses and yet they still charge 2-4 times the normal room rate during peak PSU events BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY CAN! DO NOT STAY HERE - Go to the Super 8 motel and at least you know what to expect. Poor value, popcorn ceilings, major draft from sliding glass doors, no paper goods replenishment, no elevator but lots of staircases to haul your luggage up and down, slow tub/shower drainage caused us to stand in 4-5 inches of water while taking a shower, adhesive from tub mat was gone and lifted as water filled the tub., access doors have inoperable door readers, and hotel staff like to call the place "rustic".

+It was easy to get in and out of the access road. hotel is only ten minutes from PSU/Beaver Stadium. Golf was closed but looked nice for the winter.

“Overpriced for a mid-to-low quality "resort"”
+Only in "Happy Valley" can a dated, old resort like this charge the insane rates it does. The rooms are dated and in need of repair/replacement (especially the bathrooms and old carpet). We stayed for a football weekend and overpaying is to be expected a bit. But for a "resort", Toftrees is in major need of some updates/upgrades to the rooms. That said, the staff was amazing!
