“Very adequate”

−After paying at check-in, we were informed that we had actually been given the owners’ personal family room, as his family were out of town at the time. This was only disclosed to us after we had already paid, which I found completely unacceptable. Upon entering the room, we were shocked to discover a large freezer full of food, boxes containing personal belongings, a desk and an additional television. Even the mini fridge was being used to store food. It was quite clear that this was the family’s personal living space rather than a room intended for paying guests. To make matters worse, there was a strong smell of curry coming through the interconnecting doors, as the owners were cooking next door. I found the whole experience absolutely disgusting, extremely unprofessional and completely misleading. At no point before paying were we made aware that we would be staying in the owners’ family room. Had this been disclosed when booking, we would never have stayed here. Unfortunately, we arrived very late after a full day of travelling and were completely exhausted, leaving us with little choice but to stay. “Comfortable and clean.”
+Do not let the location or small atmosphere fool you, the room was clean and the bed super comfortable after a long day of hiking. The staff were very friendly and I felt safe traveling with my son.
−The parking is a bit cramped but that’s because people have huge SUVs now. It’s no fault of the motel. If you do have a larger SUV, it’s better to park on the street.

“I cannot recommend this motel.... although the staff was great.”
+Staff was great and very helpful. We had noticed that our bare feet were almost black when we removed our shoes and just walked to and from the bathroom.
−The air conditioner had multiple settings but would only blow air at 69 degrees or 77 degrees..... and it was exceptionally loud.

−Room smells musty. Asked for a room on the bottom floor because we are elderly and they couldn't accommodate. Won't be staying there again.

+Hotel manager was pleasant.
−Okay for one night if in a pinch. Rooms need some serious upgrading and taste. Blue lighting feels like a hospital ward. Burn holes in the synthetic blankets. Sheets not tucked in, exposing yellow stains in the mattress.

−Estava brut. Hi havien pèls els llençols i el lavabo. Les cortines que servien per enfosquir l’habitació estaven absolutament trinxades. L’aire condicionat feia un soroll insuportable L’aspecte era vell i Ron rònec.

“Great motel in the heart of the High Sierra”
+The room has plenty of space for both beds. It is also super-quiet. The neighbors kept their air conditioning on all night, which in most motels creates a horrible noise, but we did not hear anything once we closed our window. It is also recessed from I395, so you don't hear the trucks driving by all night. Keeping the air conditioning on during the day is enough to have a comfortable room at night. Overall it is perfect as a hiking base for the High Sierra.
−I wish we had breakfast in the stucture. But there is an excellent cafe' right at the corner, opening at 6AM
