“Amazing hosts, extremely tasty breakfast. Beautiful surroundings and loved the history of the house.”
+The breakfast was extremely well thought out and generous. Beautifully cooked breakfast and very nice bread with a choice left for toasting. Plenty of tea on offer and a jug of fruit juice left. Very nice preserves available. Beautiful views from the dining room. The house was extremely interesting and you could tell a very much loved family home. Wonderful hosts.

“Lovely hosts but not comfortable there was glad to leave”
+The 2 ladies were very helpful & friendly. The building was lovely.
−It wasnt very clean . Room was very old & dreary & not comfortable. The road leading down to the house was badly mantained the potholes were very bad.

“Disappointed on so many levels”
+We really didn’t have a good experience at all.
−The property is dog friendly which was ideal but the dogs roaming around in property were not friendly. Within 2 minutes, one had bitten our dog which was ignored by the owner. When showed to our room, another dog followed us in and urinated twice in room which was again ignored by owner. When we asked for a room key, we were told there was no key but ‘we’d be fine’! We left and found another place to stay. This was honestly the worst experience I have ever had when staying in a hotel or guest house. We are not fussy people but I think it’s reasonable to expect other dogs to stay out of our bedroom and not mark their territory!

“Our hearts and our heads loved the place and the people.”
+Our stay felt like being invited into someone's home and finding a genuine welcoming atmosphere in a place that spoke of a long history and continuing legacy. We had a comfortable night in a large room and were also invited to sit in the living area to dry off after a long journey through pouring rain. The owners were friendly and helpful and so we felt at ease very quickly. An excellent breakfast was served in the morning and we left thinking this is somewhere we would stay again.
−Is everything perfect? No, as this is a functioning home, as well as somewhere you can stay if you wish, so it isn't that we didn't like something, it is just that visitors should not expect perfection in an old estate house but if you are willing to experience something of genuine character then this is the perfect place to stay.

+Ein wirklich süßes,.charmantes altes Herrenhaus. Wunderschön gelegen. Die Besitzerin war sehr gastfreundlich und wir konnten auch etwas über die Geschichte des Hauses erfahren. Großartig waren auch die drei verschmusten Hunde. Gerne wieder.

“Immersion dans la tradition des gentlemen farmer”
+C'est une maison ancienne avec beaucoup de charme et des planchers qui tanguent comme souvent en Ecosse mais nous avons pu loger dans un appartement plus récent avec tout le confort attendu. Le petit déjeuner proposait du porridge, des céréales, du lait, thé, café, jus de fruit, des fruits et un ensemble de confitures maison ainsi que le traditionnel petit déjeuner oeuf, bacon, saucisse et des toasts. Le matin et le soir, on voit des lapins venir manger près de la maison.
−Nous avons été surpris de ne pas pouvoir fermer la porte de la chambre mais les propriétaires nous ont gentiment proposé un autre logement sans surcoût.
