2.0“Avoid property, triple room window does not close, very noisy with no heating, ignored by host”
+Friendly reception on arrival, close to arena
−No response from host on messaging, window latch was broken and did not close, this made the expected street noise unbearable, did not sleep, room was very cold with wind blowing through the broken window all night, the second window had rain pouring through the frame into the room. Radiator did not work, no heating other than small plug in electric heater. Reported window and lack of heating to staff who were friendly but could not rectify issue. Do not stay in the triple room no. 8.

9.0“Excellent location and great value for money.”
+Location was perfect for town and first direct arena. Loads of food choices nearby. The room was an excellent size with sockets near to the bed and a sizable en suite with toiletries and hairdryer.
−They supply much needed earplugs because the area is late opening and noisy, even with windows shut. Personal taste only but the mattress was a little soft for my taste, and I would've liked a hand towel as well as a bath towel each, and a bath mat supplied. Only minor issues though. Would stay again and bring a hair wrap towel and/or hand towel from home.

8.0“Splendidly Off-Centre but across the road from Grand Theatre. Friendly staff, clean lodging.”
+All was good, but the other twin bed in Room 3 felt like a water-bed so I slept in the other.
−Central heating in Room 3 did not liven up as the first storm and cold snap kicked in, but there was an electric plug-in heater available so no real complaint.

8.0“Good value and a good location for the Grand Theatre”
+Location was great as it’s just across the road from the theatre, which is where we were going. The room was comfortable and good value. We had been warned about possible noise but on a Thursday this wasn’t a problem.
−When the pub isn’t open you have to come and go via the fire escape. We weren’t expecting to have to do this when we came back from the theatre at 10:20 hoping for a drink, but everything was closed up already. Not sure if this is usual.

7.0“Cheap and cheerful place to sleep”
+Good location, close to all local shops, restaurants and bars. Staff really welcoming. Cheap and cheerful stay.
−The door you use to access the rooms out of hours is extremely loud and woke me up several times in the night with people coming through it. Room was fine but could have done with a deeper cleaning, some stains on bedding and unswept bathroom. The shower was good but the curtain in there was horrible and almost blackout making it really dark.

8.0“Great location, simple and basic budget pub based rooms with good value for money”
+Wrens is a budget accomodation over a pub in middle of Leeds; the location is excellent, can walk anywhere, and the value for money is excellent. We took a 5 bed option of the 3 floors above the pub, basically sleeping in 5 single beds. Its quite basic, but has all the essentials, 2x toilets, shower, kitchen etc and for a group of lads this is all you need. Pub is good, decent beer and prices and staff are really friendly and helpful. We didn't have any problems with noise or anything - although were potentially arriving home after it had stopped.
−They do not supply toiletries and toilet roll in short supply! Bring your own for these. There are a lot of stairs - minimum 2 floors for the upper bedrooms, its old fashioned but for the money its worth it.

2.0“This was a disappointing experience”
+Location was good.
−The biggest issue was definitely the noise. There is a large bar right next to the hotel, with DJs playing loud music and people gathering on the outdoor terrace. I had read some reviews mentioning noise, but since I was staying on a rainy Tuesday night, I assumed it wouldn’t be too bad. I was completely wrong. At around midnight, I was suddenly woken up by extremely loud music and people laughing, shouting until very very late night. It genuinely sounded as though the party was happening inside my room. The windows have very poor sound insulation, and even with silicone earplugs, I could hear everything and barely managed to sleep. Another issue was the access to the hotel. The main entrance is through the bar downstairs, which apparently doesn’t open until 2 pm. I arrived around noon, hoping to leave my luggage (I knew I wouldn’t be able to check-in till 2pm), but everything was locked. I knocked several times and called repeatedly, but nobody answered, so I ended up having to carry my suitcase around with me. The bar also seems to have unpredictable opening hours. On the day I stayed, it closed at 7 pm, and I was given a key and told to use the fire escape entrance instead. Unfo

1.0“Really need a refund”
+It’s 2.45am and I’ve not slept yet because of the noise. There’s loud music outside and it’s so noisy with people partying. Even worse I’m in room 2 which when checking in I was told if the downstairs bar was closed was the night entrance. It’s a fire door right outside the room and scrapes every time someone uses it! I NEED A REFUND! I will never stay here again

3.0“Pure boggin”
+Location and towels
−Smelled like a toilet in a dodgy pub, beds and bedding were terrible, window dangerous, shower was horrific, fittings just randomly fell off, generally pretty dilapidated and in need of a good refurb. Bar was never open. I'd honestly never stay here again and I'd recommend noone else to waste their money. I honestly think there are new species to be found in the carpets.
