6.0“Very comfortable stay, let down by certain aspects of the catering.”
+Very comfortable and well appointed room and bathroom. Friendly staff.
−Very limited breakfast menu. No fruit, pastries, yoghurts, etc. Only english/vegan cooked breakfasts or bacon/sausage rolls etc. Bacon was thin and overcooked. Fish and chips for dinner. Chips were ok, batter was overcooked, strangely tasting crushed peas accompanied it. Meat pie was good though with proper pastry.

9.0“Fabulous stay in this lovely Pub? guest house”
+We had a wonderful stay in this pub/guest house. A special thank you to the waitress staff , sorry cant remember their names two young ladies. Explained the menu in detail and as we wanted the different potatoes to those offered and the chef was happy to oblige. I would also like to say a fantastic dining experience , Lovely home cooked food which is usual these days and great to have freshly served delicious food. Lovely room with a view .Thank you we will be back
−Children in the next room !noisy when we were trying to sleep,,,,

4.0“Ok in parts!”
+Great location, minutes from the sea by car. Although we did not get the room we thought we had booked, the bed was comfortable, nice bedding, good refreshments in room and clean good size bathroom. Staff we met were friendly.
−We booked through booking.com - a front facing room with great view of the church and sea - BUT we were put in a room at the back of the hotel. Looking out of the window we just saw rubbish eg. slabs, piles of left over wood. When we queried this the next morning (didn't bother before as only overnight there) we were told had we booked straight with the hotel we could have requested a front facing room but through booking.com (even though the picture showed a front facing room when we booked) you just get put at the back!! Room was clean in the obvious places but the top of the wardrobe was thick with dust ( made the mistake of putting something on there!) and pulling the bedside cabinet forward to plug in a charger revealed more dust. Bar area is dark and untidy. We didn't sample breakfast after reading some of the reviews. The Windmill Inn could be really good if more attention was given to the detail.

10.0“Unsightly view”
−At the rear of our room on a grass bank was a lot of dumped wood which completely looked like eyesore, wasn't very nice sitting on the decking looking at it. Also paving slabs leaning up against the wall.

9.0+The view from the roon was beautiful as well as the cute terraces. Breakfast was amazing and rather cheap for a hotel.

7.0+The location was perfect for what I needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful
−The property was very tired and a little grubby looking. It’s definitely in need of a refurb.

9.0+For the price it was easily above expectations. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Compared to the stay I had at the Methuen Arms at more than twice the cost per day it was exceptional and highly recommended.
−Everything from the room, the balcony, the view from the room, cleanliness and staff was far above what I had expected fir the daily rate.

8.0“Comfy room with nice decor in a great location.”
+The location was lovely. The restaurant was good. The husband enjoyed a hefty breakfast . The two female staff we met were great fun and very efficient. The room was good size ( just as well as there were a lot of cushions) It was nice to be able to sit out on the balcony . as the weather was perfect.
−The slope of the car park made us feel drunk! You get used to it. The steps up to the reception were really steep. We have slight walking difficulties - I also can’t walk up stairs easily. The road was fast and quite noisy and the church bell bonged randomly day and night. You get used to it. The restaurant was good . The only quibble was the menu didn’t vary so my choice was repeated, My meal was delicious but the portions were huge! I felt guilty leaving so much but was full!
