10.0+We stayed for 2 nights and it was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We booked one accessible room for my mother (although she didnt end up coming) it is ideal for wheelchair users. Would recommend. Breakfast was tasty and freshly made.
−Was all good.

1.0+Convenient location
−Dirty room, stained carpets & window seat. Tatty worn furniture, lack of plug sockets and no mirror near the dressing table where the only plug sockets are?! Dirty bathroom, mouldy silicone round the bath, heavily limescaled bath and taps that had clearly not been attempted to be cleaned, sink plug didn't fit. Very noisy creeky floorboards in rooms above, fire alarm went off 3 times during our 2 night stay, one of which was at 0430. Extortionate prices in a mediocre pub....£3.40 for a half pint Pepsi max?!

6.0“Rooms are fine but eat elsewhere. Other options available: Meadow Cafe nearby did good breakfasts”
+Bedroom: The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable with clean bedding. There were plenty of lighting options (bedside, overhead). On the down side, the headboards of the bed were a little worn, with a little flaking from the vinyl covering. Bathroom: The bathroom was basically clean, although there was some mould on the shower door, and I think the shower door leaked a little. It just felt like everything needed a refresh, rather than being unhygienic, but the shower itself was excellent, like a standing bath! Overall, rooms are basically clean and comfortable but need some updating and investment.
−Food & Drink: This was where The Wellington lost most points. The food was.. well....fairly shocking, tbh. It absolutely did NOT reflect the quality described on the website. We had 3 vegetarians with us and the spinach & squash tart was actually SLIMY and clearly had been frozen for a long time. The vegetables were old and shrivelled. I think everything had been microwaved. I actually couldn't finish mine. The meat eaters fared slightly better but they said it was only 'ok-ish' rather than actually good (they had sea bass/ pie/burger - the burger was better) . The chunky chips were excellent, though. We FOOLISHLY also had breakfast there, thinking that might be better, but it was actually worse and left everyone feeling slightly nauseous. The 'avocado' on toast was a thin veneer of green paste that might have come out of a tube, seemingly not directly from an avocado. The poached eggs had a weird, disturbing, spongey consistency that I have NEVER experienced before (how did they do it - microwave again?) and the toast was supermarket absolutely cheapest brand. REALLY bad. Part of the problem might have been that the hotel seemed chronically understaffed. About 2-3 people seemed to

7.0“Budget price hotel in centre of town”
+Nice hotel for a decent price in the centre of the town. The Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was basic but functional including an en suite bathroom with shower over a bath.
−The bedroom lamp and one of the bedside lights weren't working. The other problem is no free parking nearby. Also we were unlucky in the timing of our stay in that there were workmen and loud machinery resurfacing the road directly outside the hotel late into the night.

9.0“Comfortable and convenient - perfect as a base for exploring the local walks and also for enjoying the night life in Bre”
+Great location, nice room - comfortable and clean. Friendly helpful staff and a lovely cooked breakfast.
−Wish it had its own car park - finding a parking space took a little, but that is a common problem in Brecon and is not unique to this hotel.

8.0“Well located Hotel but the service in the evening was unacceptably slow.”
+I liked the location.
−I had to wait over an hour to receive my meal in the evening due to there being insufficient staff .
