9.0“Brilliant, and i will stay at the property as my choice on future visits to the area.”
+Graham the owner, was brilliant. A most welcoming and hospitable owner and host. Exceedingly helpful. The breakfast range was very good. The overall facilities were good, with properly having some character and charm, packed with historical depth.

10.0“10 stars ⭐ from Frank and Michael from Germany for Graeme and his wonderful place!”
+We had to find alternative accommodation for the Great North Run at very short notice after our original booking was unexpectedly cancelled. With prices in and around Newcastle skyrocketing that weekend, we were incredibly lucky to find Graeme’s lovely The View Cottage at such a fair price. The location is absolutely fantastic, right by the coast, and the cottage itself is charming, cosy and very welcoming. What really made our stay special, though, was Graeme. He was an absolutely fantastic host and couldn’t have been more helpful. The Metro station is about a 15-minute walk away, but Graeme repeatedly offered to drive us there, which we were very grateful for and happily accepted. He also provided breakfast with toast, jam, cold cuts, cereals and coffee, and even offered to prepare everything earlier on race morning so we could leave in plenty of time to get to the start line. Graeme genuinely went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He was always friendly, helpful and welcoming, and absolutely deserves the highest rating. We would happily stay here again!
−If we really had to find something to mention, our room was quite small for two people, although we did see that there are larger rooms available as well. Of course, everything was fully booked for the Great North Run weekend, and given that we booked at very short notice, we were simply very happy to have found such a lovely place to stay. There is also a shared bathroom/toilet for the small number of guests, although our room had its own shower, and this was absolutely no problem for us at all. The price was naturally higher than you might expect at a normal time of year, but considering it was Great North Run weekend, we actually found Graeme’s pricing extremely fair - especially compared with many other places in and around Newcastle. As a former landlord of mine used to say, “live and let live”, and Graeme really seems to follow that philosophy as a host. It makes the whole experience even more likeable. So these are really just things worth mentioning for transparency rather than actual complaints. We were very happy with our stay.

1.0“Awful experience never Again!”
+The view from one of the rooms
−Lots stuff The other room we had was cramped double bed and the corner was a shower cubicle almost touching the bed. Never seen that before. My husband couldn’t not shower for 3days we were there. He was the only male all other rooms were occupied with women and on suite bathrooms. He was unable to use the main bathroom for showering because the host told us not to. Then that night we checked in someone used the bathroom and flooded bathroom and came through the ceiling downstairs hallway. It became dangerous for all of us and I am disabled worried about slipping. Another guest called the host, but he didn’t come. He just said use the mop and bucket and leave to dry. Basically we the guest paid a lot Of money to stay there and the host was not bothered. So he knew this would happen. Also there was NO note above the bath to say it’s “out of order” On the 2nd I used the shower in my daughter’s room which felt strange. I had make them leave as the glass no modesty cover it was just clear glass. Problem I faced was shower doors don’t close properly so worried i would flood the room. I washed really fast trying to keep the water in the cubicle and try not to spill out in the room and we
