+A beautiful place in a fantastic location, staff were spot on, helpful and polite from check in to check out. Room was small but nice, with a great view of the harbour. Evening meal was superb, as was the breakfast.

“Comfortable and great location”
+Great location - our room was on the top floor overlooking the harbour. Comfy bed. Good shower. Good food and choice in restaurant and tasty ale. I drank Fierce - very nice.
−The radiator needs bleeding. It did get warmer eventually but much hotter at the bottom than the top. You had to go out if the hotel to reach the bar and restaurant. It didnt bother us at all but I can imagine some guests may not like it esp in inclement weather

“Very disappointing”
+Nice location and view, good bathroom and shower and not a lot more to say on the positive .
−Our recent stay in one of the "luxury" rooms was a huge disappointment. Unfortunately, the room did not live up to this description. The bed base was partially collapsed, and the mattress was heavily ridged, tired, soft and had a noticeable odour. As a result, neither my wife nor I could sleep comfortably, and I managed only three hours of rest. When I raised this the following morning, I was informed that room refurbishments were due to begin in two weeks. It is disappointing that management was aware of the state of the furniture yet continued to sell the room at a premium without an introductory warning or a proactive offer of compensation. Our dining experiences were also poor. The hot fish sharing plate at dinner featured overcooked fish and incredibly hard tempura batter. At breakfast, the porridge was undercooked and unpalatably thick, the soft fried eggs I requested were cooked hard despite my request for runny eggs (with one hidden under the bacon), and the hash browns were pale, greasy, and undercooked. I hope this feedback is taken seriously ahead of your upcoming refurbishment.

“Nice location and the staff were welcoming and friendly.”
+Excellent location with ocean views.
−Our room was on the 3rd floor with no lifts and narrow stairways. There were a couple of maintenance issues but we were told that they are closing in a few weeks for renovations.

“Great little village inn”
+We had a great stay at the Ship Inn! It’s in an amazing location, with views of the beautiful harbour if you get the right room. While the room and facilities aren’t fancy, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, and it’s an overall great value for the money. The shower had great water pressure, and things were overall clean and neat. While the rooms are slightly dated, it added to the rustic appeal of a small village inn.
