“Very enjoyable stay”
+Short walk from railway station. Right next to all the sights. Breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Comfortable bed. Very pleasant staff. Could leave my bag before check in and after check out.
−Couldn't close the window - a slight gap at the bottom.

“Perfect Location, Incredible Staff, Great Value For Money!”
+The staff were so unbelievably friendly and accommodating they even called us because we were experiencing delays getting to Rye from London just to advise us on the best travel route and to make sure we were okay! From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us the rooms were gorgeous and clean we had bottled water topped up every day & our tea and coffee station was also refilled daily. Special thanks to Emma and her daughter & Amelia and the rest of the wonderful team who's names I never got, if you are lucky enough to stay here this team is wonderful. The only issue we had was a minor plumbing issue but the staff resolved it in less than 10 mins and were more than happy to help. The location of the inn is directly opposite from the iconic mermaid street it's an ideal location to peruse the towns sights like the mermaid inn, the heritage centre, the high street, lamb house, st Mary's church etc. We got breakfast included and every day the food was exquisite and whenever we had to make amendments to the breakfast the staff were more than happy to oblige. I feel like it's absolutely worth the money and if I could score more than a 10/10 I would fantastic experience

“It was an acceptable stay. Nothing to rave about but nothing to massively complain about either.”

−Shame the fire wasnt lit in the bar. There was a big storm and everyone was coming in soaked and it wasn't very warm and cosy.

−Very tired nothing really works. Some parts of the hotel are clean others not. Pretty expensive for the overall quality of stay.

“A comfortable room, friendly staff but lots of noise.”
+The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very pleasant. The Ship is in a great location for visiting Rye. I love a room with a bathtub and this one had a lovely newer bath and lots of hot water.
−Although recently updated, as far as decor is concerned, it could do with a bit of maintenance. I couldn’t close the window due to a broken bolt and had to have a member of staff come up nd struggle with a pair of pliers for a while. The taps on the sink jiggle and the shower head was leaking at the point it meets the hose. The main downside though was noise from other guests. The doors bang a lot when you’re coming and going and the walls are paper thin - I could clearly hear a phone conversation someone had next door through the wall.

+Breakfast was a bit overpriced for what you got. I had the egg sausage bap. The bap was extremely dry and had to wash down with coffee. The price did not match the product.
