5.0“Great to have a drink and admire view but not to stay.”
+Breakfast okay but too late for early risers . 9.15 . In the summer it would be difficult to find parking spots . Excellent reviews for the breakfasts but just average.
−Looking a bit tired inside. Needs a bit of a refurb. Nice touch leaving fresh flowers on the dressing table but it was thick dust on top. Cleaning needs attention in bedrooms. Beer garden has obviously been the priority ( understandably) and is fabulous but now inside needs work.

8.0“Overall our experience was good, the location was amazing.”
+Breakfast was amazing. Having a suite as opposed to a room was really good. The owners were really nice, and very helpful. The location was amazing. The near bye town was really nice with lots of eating places, The Tapas bar was amazing with Flamenco dancing.
−I'm afraid that the sink in the bathroom was horrible. The water did not drain away and the water that stayed in the sink left black bits floating around or just left them in the sink. I felt sick when brushing my teeth, it was really bad. I felt that for me, the evening menu was quite limited. Most of the meals came with chips, I asked for a side salad with my meal but it didn't appear. The wooden window frames could do with cheering up.

8.0“As in the past an excellent stay.”
+As we had visited a few times before we requested our favourite room and got it. Breakfast was as always excellent and the dinner we had was equally excellent. The view from the beer garden is the best in the area.
−My only criticism is the bar shuts to early.

10.0“Accommodating hosts, large rooms and comfy bed. Perfect.”
+Hosts were very accommodating - I needed a late check in and they sorted it out for me. The room was large room and had an equally spacious bathroom. Water, coffee and biscuits available as well as a very comfy bed. No idea why this is only rated 7/10, it was a great stay with great hosts.

9.0“A great place to stay in a wonderful location.”
+A great location for exploring the Isle of Purbeck and easy to get into several places by the bus, which comes through the village. Pretty church too. The pub is a lovely old building, quite big and rambling with many small rooms and nooks and crannies. Fantastic terrace garden with stunning views over to Corfe Castle. Good food, good portions and a choice of good beers too. Breakfast was good. Although the bedroom is small-ish, it had everything we needed.
−The decor is a little tired in places but it didn't detract from our stay and maintaining such a big building must be difficult and costly!

9.0+Pleasant, comfortable, quiet, spacious room and EXCELLENT breakfast. The staff were helpful and welcoming. We had supper in the garden looking out towards Corfe Castle. Our car was safely parked in the carpark at the back of the inn.

1.0“Rubbish, not a very nice weekend for nearly £300”
+The location is beautiful & the breakfast was ok.
−The room was not cleaned properly, there was dust & cobwebs & the windows were dirty, the toilet seat was hanging off & the Bath was slippery. The dining room floor needed to be cleaned properly & the seats were dirty. I’ve got bites on my legs which the chemist said look like bedbugs. No one came into check if we needed any toilet paper or needed the tea/coffee replaced or to make the bed.

7.0“The location was ideal for us, the beds comfortable, food tasty and staff very co-operative and helpful. Thank you”
+Location, Staff - very helpful, food - tasty and well cooked, bed comfortable, price was fair. The pub is quirky with a large number of rooms in which to eat. The one where we started dinner was very noisy for those wearing hearing aides. The staff relocated us to a different room and switched off the music, which was ideal for us.
−The rooms and stairs to them all look tired. They need some refurbishment and a good redecoration. Those who clean need to dust behind the bedside cabinets, which have to be moved to access electrical sockets, which reveals cobwebs etc. The bannisters are sticky so need a good clean.
