+Good stop off when walking the Thames path. Plenty of tea bags supplied which was good for us!

“Cheaper option in town - value for money”
+Good value in area
−Says parking on booking com, no parking at the pub. Have to park and pay at town carpark. Some coffee/tea bits in room out of date Can hear pub from room, so fairly loud

+The location was central to amenities. Clean, good size room, with a large bathroom and shower.
−Personal preference, we do not use coffee machines, a few sachets of coffee would suffice, as there was no instructions left. However this was no down side to our stay or the room itself.

“Good value overnight stay in a comfortable room”
+Perfect central location for a night in Wallingford.
−Lack of parking a minor problem, but a relatively cheap car park was around the corner.

“Historical charm; impeccable decor and details”
+Impeccable, affordable, beautifully designed lodging in a gorgeous small town that has it all: history, architecture, lots of dining options, access to nationally recognized walking paths. Agatha Christie’s Winterbrook house just down the road.

“Highly recommended local pub with beautiful rooms and a welcoming landlady.”
+Friendly and welcoming. Beautifully decorated and appointed ensuite room (I wish I'd had time to enjoy it for longer). The pub itself is lovely too.
−It would have been nice to have had breakfast as an option.

“Unhelpful management at the Royal”
+The room was ok
−The landlady was abrasive and unhelpful I believed I had booked a twin room, but it seems this was not the case and the room had been prepared at her choice as a king double. I was challenged to the point of lying. The bed was easily pulled apart to make two singles albeit the need to change the linen. The landlady would not undertake the changes and stood by whilst I paid a £20 surcharge. To the barmam. The landlady openly complained booking.com had undercharged for the room Also I believe the booking included breakfast but the hotel had withdrawn this service. Although the room was perfectly adequate the experience was spoilt by the landlady9
