“Great location, beautiful building great breakfast and amazing staff”
+Great location right in the centre of Reading. Beautiful reception area and breakfast was lovely
−We've stayed here before, but on our previous visit we were in the main building. This time we were allocated a room in a different building. The room was very comfortable, but it didn't feel quite as welcoming as the room we had in the main building.The parking was also less convenient this time. On our first visit, the car park was directly behind the building, whereas on this occasion we had to drive around Reading for about 12 minutes to reach

+I upgraded to a Classic Room in the main building. We felt very comfortable in this room. We would have been let down to have been in the other building - and I think it is misleading on the website when booking. I looked at the pictures of the main building and on that basis booked with The Roseate. I was pleased that I was able to upgrade. The location is good as it's near the train station if you wanted to go into London. However when we arrived we were given a crazy map about how to access parking at the rear of the hotel. It turned out that car park was full and we ended up parking in the long stay car park at the train station. This was a bit of a nusiance as it was a 10mn walk in the middle of a storm. We had our breakfast delivered to the bedroom which was great. However the guy delivering said he spilled coffee on the butter and he would come back with more butter - he never did, he forgot so we couldn't eat any toast. The Eggs Benedict were very good.
−A small issue, in the Classic room there were only 2 tea bags and no milk. I requested milk when we checked in on Saturday afternoon which was delivered to the room. Suggest putting at least 4 tea bags and milk pods in the rooms. The staff were all lovely and helpful.

+Our room was spacious and modern, it also had a great bathroom too.
−The tables for two at breakfast were incredibly close, it was like dining on a table for four! It also appeared a little disorganised - waiting several minutes for cereal bowls, and the replenishment of the hot buffet!

−Bank holiday pricing during the Reading Festival is ridiculous. It is especially very disrespectful to repeat guests. Twice the normal. I am looking elsewhere.

+This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, really great atmosphere and the room was stunning! I would highly recommend this hotel for a nice break away with the partner. It's definitely a place to impress he/she 😁
−The only problem which was not on the booking information was the car park situation. I came from Portsmouth so wasn't familiar with the area and was expecting there to be onsite parking available which it says on the listing. Unfortunately the car park is first come first serve basis which caused issues with getting checked in when required. The receptionist was brilliant on the phone and listed some nearby car parks, these were around a 5 - 10 minute walk from the hotel so not great if you are carrying a lot of luggage!

“Its border line whether it’s over priced”

−The prices have increased however Bar was shut before 11pm and although rooms are very nice they are a bit dated. No a/c etc.

+Comfortable bed and nice bar.
−The door key system wasn't working, so we had to ask a member of staff to let us into our room when we needed to get in. It's rather pricey for what you get.
