+Very clean and well maintained. Had everything we needed for a comfortable and convenient stay. Quiet. Outside table good for morning coffee. Easy to communicate with owner via the Booking.com app. Very friendly.
−It is not so much that I did not like, but I did not expect-it was in a neighborhood about a 20+ minute ride from LHR terminal . It is a small dwelling behind a private residence. With excellent direction provided, it was not difficult to find. Requires entry code. No nearby restaurant-we picked up food at an airport market. Convenience store several minutes walk away.

+Good location, clean, comfortable bed, good shower, well considered eg fan during hot weather. Good value for money.
−Curtains could block light more effectively. I slept poorly due to light and noise unfortunately.

+Great location for Thorpe Park
−Despite being advertised as having a double & sofa beds. The owner attempted to charge £20 per night for sheets/pillows for the sofa bed. She cited terms & conditions which upon reading did not contain any reference to extra cost to used the advertised facilities. I would not recommend this location if you wish to use the advertised number of beds.

+Had everything we needed esp close to the airport. Host answered our queries promptly.
−The unit is located behind a main residence & initially hard to find. Also a bit of noise from neighbours & repetitive musical instrument practice.

+There is a twin size trundle bed under the actual bed. The use/layout of the space was great. The mattress was a bit more comfortable than the previous place we stayed at.
−I kept getting startled by the camera on the front of the main house because it announces that you're being recorded every time you enter its field of view.

“Another excellent stay at the Opal Lux”
+This is my second stay at the Opal Lux - I love this place. It's convenient for my purposes, though may not be for everyone. The parking can be challenging due to its location on a junction but well worth it. Everything is secure & monitored by CCTV. Maria is quick to respond to any/all messages. Previously I'd stayed during warmer weather, I had concerns it might be chilly this visit, but was proved wrong. It was warm and cozy throughout my 5 day stay. All appliances, decor and shower room (With large dispensers of toiletries) are high end - has the feel of a hotel suite. Amazing selection of herbs/spices to use (I cook extensively when staying at Airbnb's). Thoughtful touches like robes & slippers, tea, coffee, biscuits & bottled water. The bed is SO comfy, plus it's really quiet given it's proximity to LHR. this part of Stanwell isn't on the flight path (that'll change when the new runway is built). The Wifi was slightly unreliable - not something that happened on my first visit. But Maria was prop active and the issue was intermittent. Whenever returning to the area this is the first property I research (sadly it's usually booked). Highly recommended
−Had an issue with the Wifi - was surprised as this didn't happen on previous visits. I used my phone hot spot on a few occasions and it was during a major weather incident, so who knows.. Maria was very quick to offer an alternative. It did not impact on my stay

“Very cute and comfortable cottage!”
+It was extremely well-designed and contained many conveniences.
−We arrived late after a delayed bus, and it was hard to figure out where to go in the dark. A sign clarifying that guests should go to the back garden would have helped in a pinch.
