“Look around as suspect you may get better for the price”
+We stayed here a year ago for our anniversary and when the kitchen was serving food in the evening. We liked it so much that we came back for our anniversary this year as it’s great benefit is the location- the hotel is centrally located in Beaminster, has its own parking and is quaint and clean.
−Our bedroom (room 6) although spacious, actually turned out to have a very lopsided bed which appeared to be partially broken on one side. We checked in quite late after a full day out and so went straight to bed and it was only discovered halfway through the night. On checking out we complained to the receptionist who couldn’t have looked more disinterested. Breakfast is mediocre. Eggs are offered. Otherwise it’s cereal, a croissant or some rather depressed looking bits of cheese and salami. We had been warned but for the price we paid you get a better eating experience in a traditional B&B. Not a great anniversary experience this time.

“A small hotel with a big heart”
+It is a great old inn in the middle of a historic market town. Very convenient as a base to explore Dorset and Somerset. The stuff was very attentive and tried their best to make you feel comfortable even before you had a chance to complain. It was a shame that the in-house restaurant had to close down earlier this year, but it is obvious that the hotel is a striving hub of local community: there was a big pub-quiz in the evening of our arrival. The pop-up eatery The Cow and Crust, cooking from a burger van, was a pleasant surprise,

“Won’t be returning! Not value for money.”
+The building itself looks lovely our room was nice apart from one of the single beds was sloping down massively so we had to bolster it up with 3 cushions so as didn’t fall out of it. Lovely wide bath which was nice.
−We didn’t feel it was value for money especially as no full english breakfast available was only offered eggs, with half a slice of sourdough toast. There was also no menu available in the evening as something broken in the kitchen! (Should have been told this at the time of booking really) only a takeaway van in the car park we didn’t fancy what was on offer so went up the road to the pub. Bar man a bit OTT (too pushy)

“Short stay as we were attending a lunch and tasting event at the Furleigh wine estate. The Ollerod was a great spot in n”
+Beautiful old building, lovely atmosphere. Comfortable rooms and lovely bathroom. Nice space inside and out. Friendly helpful staff. Great little food van outside which the Ollerod also allowed to be eaten in their bar. Parking available on site. Nice breakfast too.

+Location was ideal for our family event.
−Limited continental breakfast facilities, only hot food was eggs, wifi drops out every few minutes, very small car park which is used by everyone, including staff.
