“Beautiful views and great room and faciliaities”
+I have difficulty with my walking and from when I got out of the Taxi the owner was fantastic. They even told me that they were sorry that there were no downstairs rooms to transfer me to instead of the first floor. I will stay there again, just for the helfullness of the people who own the property and their patience with me and for their help with my bags.

+It was a bedroom and kitchen crammed into an extremely tight space.
−It was cold, and there were notes encouraging us not to use the heating. No heating in the bathroom. There was a crazy, complicated shower. One towel smelt of soot. The female owner insisted on a £50 damage deposit, I am not really sure how she thought a couple in their 60's were going to damage her property. I insisted on her supplying teaspoons, replacing a cracked cup and charging an overbed light that did not work as I was (and still am) keen for my partner to get his deposit returned. There were several outside lights on all night.

“AVOID - NOT DELUXE rooms, Not up to fire safety regs, no alarm, Have to chase for deposit return”

−Small room, unable to fit addl bed in unless table and chairs removed.NOT DELUXE, room description incorrect. Martin was aggressive when asking about extra bed. only 2 of us, Yes, but not a couple. upvc door, with step down inside no warning, no light bulb in small lobby NO other exit, no bedroom door as entry too narrow, no window in bedroom, glass pane into "conservatory" partly boarded to form sink splashback, no curtains. No clothes storage- no coat hangers. No smoke alarm. Doors in bedrooms seen blocked up or locked- no other escape route in case of fire. Bathroom- Tiny hand wash basin, rusty radiator adjacent to loo, rusty towel stand, rusty shower head, tiles hanging off shower unit wall.No extractor. Room left "immaculate" by us, according to Cateleya, co host, not surprising as we used kitchen sink to wash, and we were out all day only sleeping there, but still had to chase for deposit refund. Before Martin states what do you expect for price- we could have gone to a Travelodge for less, at least meets hotel & safety standards!! My photos don't lie- More sent to Booking.com

−Very dated. Decor and room need a bit of attention. Booking.ckm have it listed as including continental breakfast which is incorrect.

“Handy for Ushaw parkrun”

−I asked to check out at 10.30 instead of 10am. The owner said it would cost £20 for a late check-out. I thought this was expensive. No free channels on the TV. I was surprised we couldn't even get Bbc1. Took awhile to get the £50 damage deposit back. I had to chase this up.

“Good value place close to Durham”
+Second time staying here. Good price and very comfortable bed. Shame that others have clearly treated the property poorly as the host now needs a security deposit on arrival. Not an issue but just a shame that it is needed. The same with the breakfast. Last time it was included but is appears that people have been taking advantage and ruining it for others. Only there for one night but it was perfect for what I wanted.
