10.0+Everything! If we didn't need to move onto our next destination, we would have extended for 2 more days. We used Bees' lodge as a place where we could unwind and relax after travelling for nearly 3 months. She even came to check up on us 😊. Getting out of the crowds and big city lights was exactly what we needed and The Mill Lodge gave us that. We'll definitely be back!

9.0+Bee went above and beyond Bee was an exceptional host who truly went the extra mile to make our stay special. She took the time to explain the river, pond to us, knowing we were travelling with a toddler, we were greatful for the head up from a safety perspective. She even offered to pop to the shop for our little boy when we arrived late incase we needed any food for him , such a thoughtful touch. The lodge itself was spotless, beautifully presented, and stocked with every cleaning supply we could possibly need. The resident cat was an absolute delight and genuinely became a highlight of our holiday. Seeing him each morning and evening was so lovely, and our little boy pointed him out excitedly every time he spotted him. The kitchen had a great variety of utensils, pots, pans. Luxurious soaps and lotions provided were a lovely bonus. The grounds were tranquil and peaceful, with emus next door adding a fun surprise to the setting. We had a fantastic stay and would happily return. Bee’s hospitality and the beautiful surroundings made it truly memorable.
−The only downsides were minor but worth mentioning. Being close to the pond, there were quite a lot of flies , understandable for the location, but it did become an issue. Our own trap (using dish soap and cider vinegar) didn’t help as much as we hoped, so some fly‑repellent plugs or fly tape in the cupboard would be really helpful for future guests. The other problem was the front door. It seemed to expand in the heat, and we only managed to lock it once during our stay. It wasn’t ideal having it unlocked, but because the lodge is so secluded, we still felt safe.

7.0+We really enjoyed the peaceful location of the property. It's nestled within dense woodland on a larger estate, so you really feel surrounded by nature, while still being within easy reach of the beautiful beaches on the Lizard Peninsula. Having a large Sainsbury's just a five-minute drive away was also very convenient. Although the property is on the smaller side, it was ideal for a 2-3 night stay. The double bed was comfortable, and despite the slightly awkward cupboard layout, the kitchen contained everything we needed. The host was very responsive and kind throughout our stay. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it for a short stay of 1-3 nights. If you're planning to stay longer, I'd suggest booking somewhere a little larger.
−The property wasn't as clean as it could have been. There was dust on the skirting boards, and the floor looked as though it hadn't been washed properly for some time. Improving the cleanliness would make a big difference to the overall guest experience. The dishwasher was out of order, and there wasn't a sponge provided for washing up, which was awkward to clean places etc. The hot water was also set extremely hot and unfortunately burnt my partner. I'd recommend either reducing the water temperature or providing a clear warning for guests to avoid accidents.

10.0“100% Recommend”
+Bee was friendly, bubbly & welcoming. Very helpful with some restaurant recommendations & taxi info amongst other general tips on where we wanted to visit. The lodge was in a beautiful setting, it was comfortable, relaxing and had everything you need. We visited Kynance cove which was 30 min drive, it is absolutely gorgeous and highly recommend. In the evening we went to Porthleven which was a short 15 drive, we ate at Talay Thai and would say it is the best food I’ve ever tasted so it’s a must if you visit!
−There are no negatives to share, we had a great weekend and will be back to stay at The Mill Lodge again soon!

+A comfortable, self-contained cabin in a beautiful garden, a warm welcome and the most tranquil environment made this a delightful place to stay. We will definitely visit again.

5.0“After a poor start we soon settled in and enjoyed our stay.”
+The property was compact and clean. For its size it contained a good number of facilities. It all looked fairly new. There were lovely cats to pet!
−The access road was terrible with a number of large potholes which need to be filled pdq! The owner didn’t send email directions and the key box code until the morning of the booking start date until after we had left access to WI-FI. We recommend that she should do this at least 24 hours before the booking start date and be accompanied by a text. There were no signs for the property at all.
