“Good food, comfy clean room and fab staff!”

−Wouldn’t say it’s what I didn’t like but it would’ve been nice if water in the room.

−Bed was comfortable but wooden base was annoying. Only one uncomfortable chair in bedroom.

““Accused of leaving without paying after I had specifically asked to pay””
+We appreciated that the property accommodated my wife after I had accidentally made the reservation for one person rather than two. We only stayed for one night and the accommodation itself was adequate for our needs.
−Unfortunately, the overall experience left us disappointed. My wife ordered a roast chicken dinner with no mashed potato, extra vegetables and two plates, as we are both small eaters and often share a meal. The order was taken by the young waitress and then confirmed again by the manageress/owner, but it still arrived incorrectly, with mashed potato. I looked at ordering separately, but the only vegetarian main option I could see was pasta, which I do not eat. More importantly, because I had mistakenly booked for one person, I accepted there was an additional charge. When paying our restaurant bill I specifically asked the waitress to add the additional room charge, and then paid the £48.75 bill I was presented with. I therefore genuinely believed everything had been settled. I was extremely disappointed to subsequently receive a message from Booking.com saying that the property had reported that I had left without paying the additional £20 and had not followed their policies. I certainly did not knowingly leave without paying, I had specifically asked for the charge to be added. If it was omitted from the bill, that was not something I was aware of. +I had a great stay at the masons arms,I stayed for 3 nights for a metal detecting weekend, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent, nice cosy pub in a lovely area,I would definitely go back.

+A nice, friendly hotel in a lovely village. Dinner and breakfast were both very good.
−There was nothing I didn’t like but I think the restaurant area could really be improved with lighting which is not totally reliant on the ceiling lights.
