+Everything! The whole stay experience was first class
−Nothing what so ever !! However your wording in the pre booking stage was we had a large room ?? And as such described by the hotel was a comfy room was what it was , ideal for us as one night stay over , but by no way can it be classed as a large room ?? And although I was completely happy with our room felt the description was not on !!

“Loved it”
+The sourdough bread was amazing! The day we arrived, we had a meat/cheese platter that was delicious. Very low key vibe, just what we like with a comfortable, not too big hotel. Staff was excellent, except the lack of instructions on how to use the shower. We had tepid showers because we didn't know about the extra button for hot water.

+Great set-up in a lovely location with great staff. The dinner at the Grain Store was amazing as was the breakfast. We were in one of the little 'cottages' which was ideal although there was a bit of noise from upstairs

“Poor value for money, made significantly worse by a truly unacceptable room.”
+Staff were helpful and friendly (hotel and restaurant). Responded quickly after I complained about the room on the first night, moving me to a more acceptable room.
−The initial room allocated to one of us (Room 25) was completely unacceptable, particularly given the price. The room was extremely small, with barely enough space to move around the bed (nor room for a chair). It opened directly onto the driveway leading to the car park, with cars and people regularly passing immediately outside. The only natural light came through this glazed entrance door, which meant there was very little privacy. More seriously, there were no windows, so the only way to get any fresh air into the room was to leave the entrance door open onto the driveway. Obviously, this was not a realistic option overnight. The resulting lack of ventilation and poor air quality significantly affected my sleep. Sound insulation was also very poor. The walls were thin enough that the neighbouring room's television could be heard clearly. I was genuinely shocked that the owners considered this an acceptable room in which to accommodate paying guests. I subsequently raised the issue with management, but unfortunately was given no confidence that anything would change. These are not minor complaints about décor or comfort. +A lovely, dog-friendly, hotel in a charming village close to a shingle beach. Our stable room had a fenced "garden" which was ideal for the dogs. Comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Nice walk to the beach and windmill.
