“A quaint place to stay”
+Interesting experuence of a stay with atmosphere of rustic country side feel. Building is historically interesting. Interesting that brewary attached to pub which would be heaven for beer lovers.
−Would benefit from investment in up grading the facility.

“Disappointing”
+This was unfortunately the worst hotel I've stayed in. The biggest issue was that I didn't feel safe. The bedroom door wouldn't lock, and access to the rooms was via a rear entrance that was permanently left open. As it led directly to the outside seating area, anyone could come and go, which was quite concerning. The hotel is above a pub, which is worth knowing when booking. Surprisingly, noise from the pub itself wasn't an issue. However, the room was extremely noisy for other reasons. The floorboards creaked every time either of us moved, and because the room was so hot we had to leave the window open all night. The road outside was busy at all hours, and with a streetlight right outside the window, we got very little sleep. The room itself was a decent size and had storage, a kettle and a TV, although we didn't use them. It was in desperate need of some TLC. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, there was a hole in one of the walls, and the mismatched furniture made the room feel tired and neglected. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and felt like you were lying directly on the springs.
−Cleanliness was another major issue, particularly in the bathroom. The shower drain was blocked, there was a layer of dirt on the shower floor, toothpaste covered the hand towel, and the bathroom generally felt unclean and poorly maintained. We also weren't given any towels when we arrived, although staff did provide some when we asked. Unfortunately, they looked extremely worn and well past their best. There was free parking on site, which was definitely a bonus. There didn't appear to be Wi-Fi available, although this wasn't an issue for us. There are also steep stairs up to the rooms with no lift, which was fine for us but could be difficult for older guests or anyone with mobility issues. Considering the condition of the hotel, I was surprised by the price, especially for a midweek stay. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, uncomfortable bed and, most importantly, the security concerns meant this was a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

“Really bad, slept awful, bathroom was icing on the cake”
+This place is very bad, filthy, beds are totally f*d and the place feels as though it hasn't been cleaned in years. The shared bathroom, which isn't clear, was so disgusting. I could be graphic but Ill save the issue.

“Tale of a Doss House”
+Nothing, we left!
−It was dirty and unkempt outside and in,room offered was dirty,curtains hanging off the rails ,bed collapsed when sat on,shared bathroom grubby and located at bottom of steep stairs we were then offered twin room accessed through KITCHEN!, very steep stairs dirty carpets poor furniture and a shared bathroom with black mould everywhere,the whole place smelled awful,we decided to leave, we were not offered a refund.I cannot believe this property is allowed to function as a hotel!

+Staff were relatively friendly. Beer price was reasonable.
−Very poor access to rooms through commercial kitchen. Access to bathrooms not good. Not enough facilities for number of guests. Maintenance generally poor around the property and bedrooms.

“Nice airy room and friendly pub.”
+Lovely host. The room was clean and airy and bed comfortable. The cooked breakfast was nice and a good price. The people in the pub were friendly.
−The cups could have been cleaner. There was no toilet roll after a few hours so we bought our own. There where no paper towels in the shared bathroom so we bought a hand towel to keep in our room.
