+The location was ideal because we could easily walk to the river to walk into town. And for the price was amazing value for money. We had food there and the breakfast was really good value for money and the pizza's I got say you must try them. All can say there a hidden gem in York and we will definitely coming back. Thank you to all the staff they was amazing 😍
−I think the room's could do with a refit definitely the bathrooms you will get what I mean when you go there but I'm only saying because it would help them. But everything else is spot on.

+There is nothing we liked about our stay. We stayed out as long as possible to avoid being in the pokey, shabby room. Disgraceful is an understatement.
−We didn't like the room, it was t8red, had holes in the walls, stained bedding and the lights in the bathroom didn't work. When I brought this problem up with a staff member, I was told ot would be sorted out, it wasn't. To me this was a health and safety reason and we couldn't get showered in the dark. We had to keep the door open to see to ise the toilet. It wasn't exceptable. The walls had holes in amd scuffs along them. The cental heating was on amd we could not adjust it. Apparently it was controlled by the owners phone which didn't help is one bit as he never got back to is.

+Cheap and cheerful for a stop off. Had a nice walk along the river to the city. Very pleasant. It does take 20 mins or so stroll. Everything in the room we needed for 3 of us .

+The staff. 80% of the 3/10 score I've given is for the staff. The rest is awarded because the sheets were clean and comfy, despite no bedding covers on the single bed's duvet or pillow
−Loud loud loud loud loud and loud Felt like we'd put our mattress directly under the pool table downstairs. Went with my 9yr old daughter and the language from the bar (till midnight) was obscene and could be heard like they were in the room with us. The bed and walls were chipped, splintered and serious cracks in the load bearing walls. The bunk bed ladder came away from the bed as it was loosely attached by nothing but friction and good will. Shower was very poor, pressure and heat wise. Toilet seat was extremely loose with no way of tightening it up. I know its a budget friendly place but its a 25min walk at least before you reach the boring end of the city centre. I wont be going back, which is a shame as the staff deserve a better place to use their excellent and friendly service.
