“An absolutely appalling experience at Jungle View.”
+The breakfast was decent.
−An absolutely appalling experience at Jungle View Hotel, Mirissa. This hotel is a textbook example of how to turn a hotel stay into an exercise in frustration and disappointment. We were asked to pay extra simply because we wished to pay by card, despite no such additional charge being disclosed in the terms and conditions communicated to us beforehand. The room was filled with insects, the staffing situation was utterly inadequate, and there was nobody at reception after 5:30 PM. The WhatsApp number listed on Google was equally pointless, with multiple messages and requests going completely unanswered. To make matters even more ridiculous, only one bottle of water was provided per room, and our request for an additional bottle was declined, leaving us to walk approximately 50 metres just to refill the existing one. Apparently, even providing drinking water to paying guests is an unreasonable expectation here.

“Great value for the price. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable.”
+Attentive staff: Housekeeping, concierge, or restaurant servers who went out of their way to help. Warm welcome: Fast, smooth check-in process and friendly front desk staff. Bed quality: Extremely comfortable mattress, premium bedding, or great pillow options. Cleanliness: Spotless room, fresh linens, and pristine bathroom. Breakfast spread: Wide variety, fresh local ingredients, high-quality breakfast menu.
−Too dark at night and low lightening outside the hotel location area. The hotel location is on a steep hill going up or down a steep hill with luggage is hard work.
