“Quiet, cosy and clean!”

“Pleasant, has so much potential…”
+The views and the bath tub. The bed was very low down, but mattress and pillows comfy. Heaters, in bathroom and main studio area, were welcome as it was chilly. Fine for an overnight stay.
−It had the feeling of being incomplete. The unit has so much potential, but seems a bit neglected, definitely not DELUXE, as described! Rugs everywhere, trip hazard and I can’t imagine too hygienic. The kitchen nook was very makeshift. Washing dishes in the bathroom basin was not great. Cords from wifi and powerboards hanging, not safe or visually appealing, all have bright LED lights (including the microwave on top of the fridge) which are not very sleep friendly at night. Nowhere to place suitcases or unpack clothes for a stay longer than 1 night (ours was 4 nights), 3 hangers on a rail above the kettle, microwave and fridge in the kitchen nook…tricky when one has to hang coats! There were cobwebs floating about from the rafters. No table and chairs to sit and eat- inside or outside. A microwave, but no microwave safe containers for warming food, no cooking facilities or chopping board. Steps up from parking area could be slippery and dangerous in wet and icy conditions without hiking or super grab boots/shoes. +The property manager was awesome, nice and responsible. He was very responsive before we arrived and texted me the detailed address information to help us check in smoothly. We arrived at night that day, he was waiting for us and checked that we got everything sorted out. We also loved the location very much, easy to access to Lake Wanaka and the city center, close to hiking tracks. We enjoyed the tranquility of it when we were back from Lake Wanaka in the evening, sitting in the patio to enjoy the stunning mountain views. We cooked our dinner in the fully equipped kitchen, pleasantly surprised to find the host prepared chopsticks for us!
−It would be fantastic to make the toilet odor clear out quickly by a fan or other ventilation equipment although opening the window in the bathroom and door opposite to the bathroom already helps.

“Total disappointment, would definitely not recommend”
+Great views and quiet
−We made this booking last year and were extremely excited, but on arrival we we’re disappointed the key was not in the lockbox as arranged, steps up to the room were unsafe and did not meet building compliance, there was no smoke alarm, the door lock was loose and difficult to operate. Cobwebs were hanging from the ceiling, it was dirty and far from clean, rubbish on the floor, fridge and microwave had food splatters. I had to wash all cutlery and crockery. The tea/coffee making facilities were set up in the bathroom/toilet. The complimentary tea coffee were part jars and were leftovers from other guests so no guarantee of quality or hygiene. The towels and sheets were clean, but the duvets, blankets and rugs were filthy - my dogs bedding is cleaner then that. That toilet seat was broken and owner refused to have repaired. Both the shower and toilet were moldy. The owner became rude and aggressive when we approached him and he did not appreciate us being upfront and honest with our review. If I could give this negative stars I would and would certainly not recommend this to anyone.

“Bring your own pillows”
+Location is great, short drive into town. Beautiful 180 degree views of the mountains. Really warm place without the heating on and it was -1 outside.
−Need a new kettle as it's a burning hazard. Bedroom pillows are awful
