+The character of the historic and well maintained building. We had a compact room which was perfectly clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location a short walk from the waterfront and immigration museum.

“Experience history, and feel right at home.”
+My wife and I stayed one night at The Halliburton, and it turned out to be the biggest surprise of our trip. I'll be honest , when I first learned our room was in the basement, I was a little disappointed. But that feeling disappeared the moment we stepped in. The room was beautifully furnished, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. We slept wonderfully. Everything was spotlessly clean; the towels and bed linens were freshly laundered and crisp. What truly sets The Halliburton apart, though, are its common areas: the library and lounge are steeped in old-world charm, in a building said to be over 200 years old. It feels less like a hotel and more like staying in a gracious historic home. If you appreciate character, comfort, and a touch of history, this is a very special place to stay in downtown Halifax. Highly recommended!

“Comfortable stay in a heritage townhouse”
+The Halliburton is a conveniently located, charming, and comfortable hotel, which is distributed over three heritage townhouses - really beautiful. The ladies at the reception, especially Leila, were so friendly and helpful. My room was small but cosy; the bed was really good. When I was there, the hotel restaurant was not open, but I got very good advice. (For breakfast, I highly recommend 'The Wired Monk', which is just across the street.)
−I have no points of critique, but for some visitors, it might be of interest to know that, given the old townhouse structure, one can hear people coming and going. I did not hear voices from adjoining rooms, but I did hear people walking up the stairs and walking upstairs in their room. It didn't bother me, but it might be a problem for people who are light sleepers.

−My traveling companion had a disability that made climbing any stairs difficult. They were able to accommodate us with a room on the main floor. Still needed to climb 4 stairs to enter or exit the hotel.
