“Comfortable rooms, lovely location, excellent fishing, but food can be a bit hit and miss”
+All the staff were really friendly bar one lady who just moaned the whole time, mainly about the guests or her workload. They had an interesting menu and a good wine list. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. The gammon steak was very thick but still cooked perfectly. The traditional fry up was plentiful and delicious.
−I am not a fan of cold toast. I ordered poached egg on toast. The eggs were beautifully cooked but the toast was stone cold, the butter hadn’t even melted. We ordered more toast but that also arrived cold. There was a toaster by the coffee station but the staff said they preferred not to use it. That evening I ordered ribs. They came nowhere close to falling off the bone. I requested a steak knife to cut through them but was forced to give up after 2.
