“It was in a convenient location for me. Owner was friendly.”
+Very friendly owner who didn't mind me turning up late. Very large shower with great power - lovely. Great to have kettle and hairdryer in room.
−I would have greatly appreciated more directions to the house as I was arriving late in the dark and it was not in the place Google says it is. With a couple more directions, would have made things so much easier. Was vexed at the time and I disturbed one of their neighbours. The sign to their house is not obvious in the dark and the house itself is not obvious as its hidden from view from the end of the row of houses. I also did not like the pillows - not good quality, uncomfortable.

“Lack of Communication, no welcome by the host & not offered breakfast.”

−I didn't stay my second night as I was disappointed with lack of communication I received!..the mobile number I had for communication which you asked me to contact you on giving my eta, I texted 1st Sept to say I would let you know on the day for eta as wasn't sure of travelling times, my text was read but not replied to. Sent another text the morning of my stay to say I would be about 6pm and would that be ok, no reply. I tried to ring when we stopped for lunch only to be met with "unavailable please try again later" the second time I tried was automated message asking for "my name and reason for call" then it said sorry can't take your call. I tried again an hr later and finally got through..was on the phone for a total of 3&1/2 minutes being told arrangements of room and help myself to milk from your fridge if needed (I didn't as I drink decaf coffee) and you were in a rush to go out and wouldn't be home too late. You said you had sent me a message with details of everything and I said I hadn't received any messages, I stayed up until 10pm hoping to see you when you got home (tired from driving most of day so couldn't stay awake any longer) I thought there would be someone in th

+Beautiful room with views. Hot tub is in garden but was fantastic. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Walks from the garden where lovely.
−Room felt a little bit cluttered with personal belongings but for a one night stay it was great.

“Beautiful setting, very peaceful and calm.”
+The location is idilic with a rural setting and lots of birds in the garden. It is a peaceful location and easy to find with room to park your car safely. Our host was very welcoming and laid on a lovely breakfast at our request (though not included in the price).
−The room was small and had several large wardrobes with the owners belongings in, one reserved for guests. The glassware was very dirty and could not be used in that condition - looked like they'd been there a year or more unused. I'm sure if we had said something, these would have been swapped out immediately but by the time it was noticed it was late and we didn't want to disturb our host. Other minor gripe was their dog had brushed up against my legs a few times and left what can only be described as an orange oily mess on my trousers - annoying as I had only one other pair with me for the two nights we were there.
