“The perfect location to relax and enjoy Matlock .”
+The Gables was the perfect place for our first visit to Matlock . The property is exceptional and the hosts made our stay warm and friendly . Views from our room ( the Derwent suite) were amazing, across the valley looking over to the Heights of Abraham . Both Matlock and Matlock Bath were within walking distance ( although up a very steep hill!) . A perfect base for exploring further afield into Bakewell, Chatsworth etc . Our room was beautiful with every little detail being considered down to the fresh milk in the room fridge , a beautiful China teapot and teacups, wine glasses and a big jar of bath bubbles for the huge freestanding bath . Breakfast was delicious with every combination of breakfast menus provided for . I loved the fresh fruit platter and yoghurt , and the locally produced sausages and bacon were delicious . A perfect place to celebrate a special big birthday . Thank you !

“Enjoyed our stay”
+Beautiful views and surroundings with the garden; Sue and her husband were so nice and helpful. Delicious breakfast - either full English or a generous continental.
−Bathroom could’ve been a little cleaner with some dust and hair on the floor. The in-room refrigerator could have used a little cleaning as well.

“Comfy family BnB perched up in the hills above Matlock”
+We enjoyed our 2-night stay here up in the hills above Matlock - the room is spotless and comfortable, they make a great fresh breakfast in the living room, and you are a short drive to Matlock and Bakewell and other parts of the lovely Peak District.
