“Usually stay elsewhere in Whitby and this was our first time at the Dolphin. We were very impressed”
+Breakfast and location were superb and all of the staff very pleasant and helpful.
−Climbing the stairs as we are in our mid and late 80's.

“Lovely couple of days away”
+Perfect location rooms could do with a few bit sprucing up Breakfast staff was a chap who was so friendly and welcoming loved chatting to him Food was nice
−Drink prices was hit and miss £8 and a few pence for a large white wine and soda is nearly double the price of a pub just across the road hence why I only had 1 drink each night in hotel We did find out that 1 of the other hotels across the road did give 15% off food and drink if you were stopping there may be could offer some kind of discount if staying here

“Amazing location, wholesome breakfast with a view”
+Amazing location in heart of Whitby with unique views of the harbour and famous swing bridge. Dolphin is a good old fashioned pub. Breakfast, without being exceptional, was tasty and wholesome.

“Basic place to stay”
+The location is good, next to the bridge, but there is some traffic noise. The room was spacious.
−There is no parking at the hotel and the closest parking lot at Church Street has very limited space. The shower was so bad, with mold all over that we did not use it.

“Friendly pub with rooms in an excellent location.”
+I slept very well in the comfortable bed. The location was excellent, and the staff were friendly and easy-going. Great breakfast. Would stay there again if I was in the area. The room had a nice big window which allowed us to have as much fresh air as we needed.
−The room was clean enough but little details let it down e.g. the soap dispenser was covered in soap, the toilet roll holder was dusty and the shower suffered from a little bit of mildew. We had quite a lot of luggage as we were on a long trip so it took a lot of effort to drag it up the stairs to the second floor. When we arrived, there was nowhere to park, so we had to park half a mile away and walk but I should imagine that is a problem in Whitby generally.

“The Dolphin remains a welcoming old friend when we visit Whitby.”
+Breakfast was good, as ever. We have stayed here many times, due its excellent central location and the views over the harbour from our room.
−The Dolphin is a busy venue, justifiably so. Inevitably some fittings or appliances may need attention between room bookings, difficult in the time available. Cleanliness is excellent.
