−There were a lot of mosquitoes in the room. We spent a little while swatting them. The lamp on the bedside table had a burned out bulb. And the television worked, but you had to put the sound on max and then you could just barely hear it.

“Dillard House is fantastic for a dilly dally weekend whether you're solo, on a date or with family.”
+Labor Day Weekend 2026, I booked an impulse solo trip to Dillard House to explore nearby waterfalls. (Dry Falls was my favorite.) The destination is an easy drive from Atlanta, and the views of the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains are top tier. Speaking of top tier, The Dillard House provided me a complimentary room upgrade, so the trip started on a high note!!! The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Take note that the resort is undergoing renovation; be prepared for parked bulldozers and work sites. Still, the construction didn't take away from the experience. There's a nearby paddock with friendly horses. I visited them every day. The pool was smallish, clean, and stayed open until 9. There wasn't poolside service during my stay, and I didn't ask if it was available at other times. If I'm honest, the restaurant was mediocre. (Eek, I hate to say anything less than complimentary because I loved this.) However, the bartender was great and highly entertaining!! The bar and restaurant close quite early, but plenty of dining options - from fast food to Asian fusion - are just 10-15 minutes away. I had lunch at Universal Joint and dinner at Rabun Social. −I heard mowers or other machines start up early on Saturday morning, but it wasn't terrible. I was able to get back to sleep.

−Room 216 has a patio door that is very hard to open . Suggest that room numbers are illuminated for visitors arriving in the dark.

+view out the back door overlooked a nice wooded area. large shower. mini fridge with small freezer compartment, quiet, bright lighting in the bathroom
−sticky carpet, stale warm musty odor hits you on entry, wet floor with mildew and rot along the floor around the toilet, strange layout that there was a large tile shower on one side of the bathroom, but the other side of it had an old tub/shower combo, dim lighting in the room
