“Its the details.”
+The details. I do agree there needs to be some areas that need refreshing. We love the charm of older settings and the grounds as a whole was excellent. The staff are what makes a great stay and the attention to how we have our room and the hospitality of all the staff was exceptional.
−A refresh of some areas and having universal power outlets would be something I would like to see. My wife has stayed at the Dharmawangsa multiple times and is her first choice when staying in Jakarta and I can now see why!

“Disappointing stay.”
+I stay in the hotel every year with family or friends or my husband but this was the first time I was disappointed in the stay.
−The room felt very outdated, broken sockets, sagging beds. Sound from the street was very loud through the windows all through the night so it was difficult to sleep. It was not informed upon booking that the pool were to be closed due to an event - and I booked specifically to use the pool. The wellness area and spa has been closed for years and have not reopened.

+We love to come here while in Jakarta, there' no better place to stay. The staff is so amazing, always friendly and helpfull, finding a solution for everything and always so cute with the children. The rooms are huge with nice balconies. The breakfast is the most amazing. We're always so looking forward to it.the garden area is really a rare pearl in Jakarta. It's really worth ot staying there.

“Beautiful hotel, an even more beautiful EXPERIENCE”
+This is the best experience I have ever had at a hotel. Everywhere I wanted to go, I was able to get there in 15-20 mins via Grab! They even offered to call the rides FOR me. The room was amazing, ask for a room w a terrace overlooking the courtyard. I spent most afternoons by the pool & it was so serene, you cannot tell that it’s surrounded by a bustling city! & don’t get me started on the STAFF. I felt like a celebrity!! Arief, Daffa, Affan, Grace, & Nisa all made me feel so welcome & we’re so incredibly kind & accommodating. I made best friends w Arief, he suggested wonderful, local, Indonesian dishes for me to try everyday meal, & he even gifted me coffee beans on my last day. I was nervous to solo travel but knowing everyday that I would get to see them made my trip unbelievably comfortable. The hotel is beautiful but the staff are even better <3

“A Wonderful Welcome at Dharmawangsa Hotel”
+I recently stopped by Dharmawangsa for a brief inspection visit and came away thoroughly impressed. I was greeted by Hamam, whose warm smile and genuine knowledge of the hotel's history and the artefacts displayed made for an excellent introduction. He guided me through the common areas with real pride, and rightly so, as they're charming, spacious and elegant. Hamam then led me out to the al fresco restaurant, where I tried the house speciality, Tubruk coffee, made by barista Diki. Diki was a delight, and it turned out he knew all about Melbourne's coffee scene, which made for a lovely chat over an excellent cup. Even on a short visit, the warmth of the staff and the quality of the surroundings left a strong impression. I'd happily return for a stay to experience all that Hamam spoke of.
