“Excellent value hotel right in the middle of Uppingham”
+The room was bigger than we had expected with very comfy twin beds. The ensuite was fine. The breakfasts were amazing. They didn't have a menu, they just asked what sort of thing you would like and gave suggestions eg. Greek yoghurt with granola and berries, followed by a cooked breakfast of your choice, washed down with first class coffee. The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful.
−You can't get dinner there on Sunday nights or Monday nights, despite the outside board showing that Monday evening there were meals available.

“Nice enough and reasonable value for the location”
+The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was quirky, in fitting with the age of the building. It was great to have parking on site. Because we left each day too early for breakfast we were offered a packed breakfast which was unexpected and a very nice gesture. The breakfast did a job but might want to think about the impact of putting pastries in a fridge. Fans were provided for warmer weather although not required for our stay. −The bed was ok but not the most comfortable. The room smelled a little damp and the blind on the window could not be raised or lowered, which together with the lighting meant that it felt quite dark. All the facilities were there but small things like the placement of the mirror and the location of plug sockets meant that you couldn't easily dry your hair in a mirror. With an old building it is hard to get these things perfect. There was a good supply of tea, coffee and milk but the room did not get replenished one night.

“Very comfortable stay. Great location. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast”
+Very comfortable hotel in a good location. Good value, friendly staff. Really lovely breakfast.
−There was no blind or curtain on the bathroom window! but we made do with a towel hung over the open window.
