“A good quality hotel, which let's itself down, with a poor level of customer satisfaction by some.”
+The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with a great degree of choice. Diane the breakfast host, was very helpful, and gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble. My partner and I also sampled 2 evening meals which were equally as delicious.
−On arrival, there was no warmth in the greeting from the staff, having travelled several hundred miles by car that day, and having been on the road for up to 7 hours in total. The location of our accommodation was within the periphery of the hotels car park, and within earshot of a bus stop. The room itself was very roomy, with a very comfortable king sized bed, as requested. However, there was a false wall 🧱 between our room, and the next, and there was an extremely annoying machinery sound coming from that direction, which would start from around 2230 hrs in the evening, and continue up until midnight. This meant that it was difficult to get to sleep if you wanted to, and in addition to this, from around the same time, there was the sound of what sounded like a microwave being activated, more than once , together with the sound of running water, as if a kettle were being filled with water or similar. This continued for two of our 3 nights stay, and was reported, but nothing seemed to have been done about it, until on the morning of the third day, I asked to be moved to another room. This was agreed upon, but only occurring later in the day, after having returned to our existing

“Ideal place to stay with plenty of local walks.”
+Great pub, right in the centre of Coniston. Room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, powerful shower was excellent. The evening meals were amazing and staff were very friendly. Loved that dogs weren’t allowed in the main eating area. A lovely stay in a great pub, would definitely stay again and highly recommend.
−All good

“Perfect!”
+Everything was spot on. Great location, easy parking, friendly staff, lovely room, lovely food etc. etc.
−Noise from drinkers later on in evening sat below room windows. Wasn’t really a major issue as noise stopped as soon as pub closed.
