4.0“Meh!”
+Location, location, location.
−I think it was a bit deceptive in its portrail as an inn. It was more like a B & B (with a mediocre breakfast), which is not what we were looking for. The floors needed more vacumning, the TV experience was woeful and the lack of lighting (especially important for older folks) were negatives. Carol, the hostess, was helpful with directions in the area and trying to make this a good experience. I imagine that in the peak summer months it was a bit more enjoyable. On a scale of 1-to-5 (low to high), I would give it a 2.

1.0“Dishonest host- do not book with this property.”
−The host did not honor our reservation even though we had a confirmation of the reservation. She lied to us and asked me cancel with booking.com. I put complaint in to booking.com. Then she tried to say I wanted to cancel and they now had a room for us. We gad already booked other accommodations and booking.com paid for the difference

3.0“Great town not so great Airbnb”
+Proximity to town only
−Bathroom was dated bedroom was small. The actual bed size couches were stained, and there was an odor of mold throughout the unit.

3.0“Somewhere between poor and decent, the owner was trying but hadn’t vented to put the time or money into upgrading it.”
+A pretty location. Handy to town and to our event. Nice views from our window. Spacious with a good lounging area.
−It felt worn and uncared for and a bit dirty .

9.0“Spacious and comfortable, 1 mile from Stockbridge”
+Lovely open space just a mile from downtown Stockbridge. Spacious and comfortable and private with big windows that open out onto the large lawn in a rural setting. Bed was lovely, and comfortable chairs were great for lounging. The the owner C was charming and super helpful with things to do in the area - the best.
−Tv/wifi very slow-TV largely unusable. Breakfast was an afterthought. Should be marketed as a house rental, but not b&b

4.0“Spacious area that held promise if the above is taken care of.”
+Lots of space
−Heat didn’t work, tv didn’t work, coffee maker needed to be cleaned, entire unit needed to be cleaned, closet smelled,I couldn’t keep my hang up clothes in there, cobwebs were present, no bar soap to wash with ( you don’t wash with sanitizer)

4.0+Convenient location is the only thing that we liked about this place.
−This is not a bed "and breakfast." For a two-night stay, when we arrived we found a small refrigerator in a closet. In the refrigerator were 3 little cardboard boxes and straws with orange juice and 4 small containers of yogurt. There were two croissants in a plastic bag nearby. There was a coffee machine around the corner in the bathroom. There was not even a table and chairs where we could sit down to eat this "breakfast." For the second morning , there was no breakfast at all. The unit itself is no more than what you might expect to find in an old roadside motel, dark, musty and uncomfortable. Couldn't tell if the toilet was filthy or just stained but it was obviously years old and pretty disgusting. The towels were frayed and also appeared to be many years old as were the bathmats. At about 5 a.m. both mornings we were awakened by footsteps upstairs. The second morning we'd had enough and left at 7 a.m.

4.0“Disappointed but we got to and from Tanglewood which was our goal”
+Perfect location for getting to and from Tanglewood. Appreciated the noontime check-in and being able to book just one night. Host was a character, helpful with directions and Tanglewood tips. Bed was comfortable.
−Suite (it's not a cottage) did not match the impression received from the listing. The unit was dark, cramped and musty smelling. Everything except the bed was dingy and stained, about 50 years from needing an update. Couldn't tell if the low sitting toilet was dirty or just plain old and stained. Listing said breakfast was provided for our party of two. Well, breakfast was a single small container of yogurt, two crullers that felt like frozen rocks, a small bottle of milk for coffee, and some ground coffee to make coffee in the bathroom. Sleep was broken by footsteps walking around above us. We finally gave up trying to sleep at 5am and left without using the shower or eating.

2.0“Wish I knew it was an in-law apartment in a private residence.”
+Good location for hikes and to Great Barrington.
−It’s a private residence and the “suite” was essentially an in-law suite in the owner’s basement. I felt calling this a Bed & Breakfast was misleading and should have been noted. We didn’t even stay because we had no idea going in this was the situation.
