9.0“A very comfortable, quiet stay in a well equipped, small, family run hotel.”
+Located in a small village 30mins drive from Evesham, where we were attending the festival of brass. Satnav took us down miles of country lanes but, on arrival, there was plenty of free parking. Our room was spacious, had a large, very comfortable bed and was well furnished and equipped. The decor was clean but rather dated. The en-suite shower room had recently been refurbished and was lovely, but for the small amount of paintwork being incomplete. The small TV was better than some hotels and could get iPlayer. Food in the restaurant was excellent and had a range of wines by bottle and by the glass. In common with many pubs these days, the bar sold mainly lagers and pale ales but with one traditional bitter. Staff were all freindly and helpful. In spite of serving as the village 'local' we heard no noise during the evening or over night. Breakfast was the traditional B&B fare and was excellent. The menu also provided the opportunity to order a few less usual items, like kippers, in advance. Our one night stay was better than we had expected and we would stay again if we return to the area, maybe next year.
−Minor items: No power points close to the bedhead or within reach of the multi-point lead I always carry. Lighting could be better for reading.

9.0“Excellent pub accommodation at good value.”
+Excellent breakfast. Really good choices. Preferences noted and served. Portions very generous. Staff very friendly helpful. The pub was well used by friendly local people which is always a good sign.
−The superior double room is in need is some redecoration but the on-suite bathroom has already been done to a high standard.

1.0“The best thing about it was leaving”
+If forced to say something the breakfast was OK, but honestly the best thing about it... was leaving. When you've seen the below and If you're reading this and thinking "oh heck I've booked, now what?" or "I was thinking of it, but erm..." See what they say. It's going to be something along the lines of one of the following: (1) "yeah, we're really really sorry, hands up, we've got problems all over the show, we're out of our depth, we tried it on because we thought we could, but now we are so sorry and have learnt lessons and will improve" OR (2) Lie, say "it's all lies, we're snow white here, and we're glad you're never coming back, pity you ever booked in the first place" OR (3) It's "all a big misunderstanding, here's all the totally innocent explanations" OR (4) No response. You the reader can then make your own mind up!
−Pre-paid two rooms for an overnight stay here. High hopes for the advertised 4 Star experience. Arrived 9pm as pre-advised after long drive. Checked in by young girl working the bar, but found one of the rooms (ground floor) absolutely stinking of drains. Went to bar to report and get the room swapped. Bar girl had to text owner (who was not present) but room was swapped to one on first floor. Thinks oh well, they've gotta have known, but benefit of doubt, all sorted now. Went to have a drink in the bar, finished up, going to bed when bar girl says I've had a text, there's an additional charge for the room swap, it's bigger!! What, cos the one already paid for stunk to high heaven of drains, for real?!? Of course it's 10pm. Where you going to go if you just walk out? And you've already paid best part of £200? Livid, but paid, anyway she's just the messenger. Go up to room, hear a beep, beep, beep from stairwell.. takes a look and the alarm panel's carrying a fault light. Great. Goes in room, see little insects teeming all around shower drain. Sinking feeling. Gets up in the morning, see the woodwork's shot in the windows, the car park's full of pot holes and a chunk of the boundary

+The staff were lovely; friendly but professional. I was shown my room. I chose to have an evening meal, it was great. The room was well decorated, comfy bed, neat modern shower room, plentiful comps tray, shower gels available. Breakfast was great, service tines convenient. Plenty of parking space.
−Really well appointed place, no dislikes.
