“A Great Motel on the Ocean”
+The Beacon is a gem of a motel right on the edge of Emerald Isle in Salter Path. I used it as home base for the Emerald Isle Marathon. We brought our dog and took her to the beach. We only had a small amount of time in the afternoon, but the beach was lovely, quiet, and pristine. The room was super cute and spacious. The bed and couch were cozy and we had enough room for us to spread out with our dog. There's a nice shower and kitchenette as well. AC Units kept the room comfortable too. Check in was a breeze and our host was kind enough to let me come back to shower after my race. We'll definitely look into staying here again whenever we are back.

“A wonderful place for my autumn trip to the beaches.”
+There is ample space to sit outdoors, comfortable outdoor spaces. The road noise was not bad in late Fall but I expect different in the summer. The room was bright and cheerful, lovely bathroom. I suggest bringing a pan or special utensils you prefer if you are cooking a lot, but cutlery was new and clean. I felt welcomed with my dog by the staff.
−The area around the dumpster smelled bad. Some broken items were not thrown into it properly.
