+Location was in such a pretty village. The staff were friendly and the room was so cosy and beautifully decorated. We had a lovely cooked breakfast. The server was so nice

“Extremely disappointed for price paid”
+Staff were mostly lovely
−Mold on pillow in room Dust everywhere in room Damage to areas all over room No coffee pods given despite coffee machine there and no alternative coffee apart from bags that exploded in hot water No plug socket by bed Extremely bland rissotto in the restaurant and when my partner asked for all accompaniments with his steak apart from tomato, came out with no accompaniment apart from tomato- for price we’re paying that is unacceptable. Espresso martinis at two different prices depending on which one of us ordered them and the second round tasting of nothing but cheap black coffee.

“Pleasantly surprised”
+We stayed at The Arundell while visiting a local pumpkin patch and were pleasantly surprised by our experience overall. I particularly appreciated receiving a call before our arrival to ask whether we would like to book a table for dinner and to check our expected arrival time. It was a thoughtful touch and a great start to our stay. We received a lovely welcome and were pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel and rooms were. Our room was cosy and comfortable, although it was directly opposite the main entrance to the Coach House, so a way of blocking out the light from the hallway through the door would have been beneficial. The room was also a little on the warm side, despite the heating not being on. Personally, I would have preferred a TV in the room, although I appreciate this comes down to individual preference. We had breakfast the following morning, which was lovely and made with good-quality ingredients. However, it would have been helpful if someone had explained how the breakfast service worked when we were shown to our table, as we found ourselves having to ask several questions. When I ordered the full English breakfast, it came with fried bread. It would have been
−No tv no Prosecco Didn’t take cash

“Friday night stay at the Arundell Arms”
+View from the bedroom over the gardens, suite was comfortable (but not a suite!), lovely drawing room, food very good (but very limited dinner menu), staff were friendly and helpful, accommodated us getting into our room earlier than 3pm check in,, easy to find from A30
−Suite was not really a suite, separate space with two uncomfy seats in it, no view either unlike the bedroom (seating area more like a dressing room space), the seating area was cold as was bathroom (needs double glazing), no restaurant on site which surprised us, residents/diners accommodated in bar area (?), not the experience we were expecting . . . Menu was tiny for dinner-4 starters, 4 mains (and one option was the obligatory burger, why, it is a fishing, hunting, shooting hotel)-again, with 21 rooms and residents potentially chosing to eat there it seemed a bit off, missing a trick here, and the food we had was very, very good. Also disappointed that cafe was shut-refurbishment- we had not booked breakfast but would have grabbed something but ended up at Strawberry Fields just down the road for food before our journey home. It could be a really good place to stay, but some elements in place but others not, so for us it did not work.

+Lovely big room nd comfy bed. Nice and warm.
−Difficulty turning on the shower and constant drip. Also the selection of meals on the dinner menu was limited and the same menu both days we stayed.
