“A great place to stay if overnighting in the Clear Lake area”
+Beautiful, superbly preserved and renovated historic buildings, wonderful friendly staff. Excellent restaurant. Attractive swimming pool area (but pool freezing cold and jacuzzi just barely warm)
−Clear Lake seems like a very friendly community, and it’s perhaps a good weekend/vacation home who those who want to fish or get away from Sacramento or the Bay Area… but for tourists, there’s practically nothing to do or see (unless you’re drawn to a tawdry motel casino). The whole area is surprisingly undeveloped for visitors. In nearby Upper Lake, where the Tallman Hotel is located, there is a charming (though very small and mostly vacant) principal street. Nevertheless, the Tallman is so nice that it’s a worthy destination in itself.

−Was traveling for business so wished breakfast, or at least coffee was available earlier.

“Lovely building but expensive for the location”
+Beautiful room and large bathroom. Attention to detail with decorating
−Front desk said the hot tub was opened but it was not. Long stairs to carry luggage. Note that there is nothing really around the property.

+The bed was comfy.
−The refrigerator did not stay cold. I was unable to fill the bathtub with water to take a bath. Hardly any TV channels to watch on Direct TV. Musty, dusty, and stains on chair and carpet. Rooms really need to be remodeled and repairs need to be fixed.

“Cute, good value.”
+The historic property has been well maintained and adds a great element to the experience. It feels like staying in history
−The staff were not great. They need to take some lessons on hospitality. They did nothing to make us feel welcomed. In fact it felt the opposite. The owner (or guy in charge) was on a personal call when we arrived and told us to “just sit down” and it’ll be about 5 minutes. Someone else finally came out to help but not a great welcome. Throughout the stay they didn’t feel connected to the property. Just running a business. Not comfy or homey - as this property should have. Also the amenities (coffee, toilet paper, etc felt cheap - like motel 8 quality. Not a match for a luxury property.

+Piękny budynek hotelowy z czystymi i nietuzinkowymi pokojami.
−Trochę większe porcje śniadaniowe. Chociaż śniadanie samo w sobie przepyszne
