“Good location but lots of beds in one room with no privacy”
+Good location in th centre of shkoder right near bus stops and the pedestrian street. Owner was friendly when he is there but I was checked in by his son and wasn't given much information and had to go back and ask for sheets which he didn't know where they were. The room also says it has 10 beds but it is actually two conjoined rooms with 6 beds in one and 16 beds in the other which was disappointing but luckily it wasn't very full.
−A lot more beds in the room than advertised and there were not enough sheets or towels available for check in time but they came to give them later on. This hostel did not feel very welcoming and there is no privacy on any of the beds so I would not recommend to other solo female travellers

“I would not recommend this hostel.”
+The location is central and the property is very clean.
−This accommodation is not really a hostel, rather a loft with beds in it. There is only one shower located in the restaurant downstairs, which if all the beds were full would definitely be an issue. My main issue was with the male manager of the hostel, he was constantly wandering in and out of the bed area and on my second night I was the only person (a solo female) sleeping in the area when you first walk in. I woke up in the night to find the male staff was sleeping in the bed beside me, he proceeded to wake up and shine a torch in my face which I found totally terrifying. I’m pretty tolerant with understanding that hostel sleeping often means putting up with noise and disruption, but I found this whole situation really uncomfortable and I don’t think it’s appropriate for staff to treat the hostel area like their own living quarters too. I’ll add that the young boy and female working on the reception were very nice.

“Good value in great location with some caveats”
+Staff were incredibly friendly, and the location was great. Safe, clean stay for a very reasonable price.
−Breakfast was very limited, showers were difficult to access (I was never able to take one there), and auxiliary services like luggage storage are relatively pricey. Room stayed fairly hot during the day, by nighttime it was cooler but notably warm.
